Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Semyon Varlamov posted 23 saves for his fourth shutout of the season to lead the Colorado Avalanche in a 3-0 victory over the Nashville Predators on Friday. Maxime Talbot, Gabriel Landeskog and Jarome Iginla scored for the Avalanche, who had lost three of four coming into the game. To get a shutout in this league is sure not easy, said Varlamov. Tonight we played a solid 60 minutes. I saw a lot of shots that came from the blue line. We got off to a good start, and we built confidence from there. Colorado avenged a loss to Nashville in its last game on Tuesday. It wasnt a home-and-home series because the Predators played in St. Louis on Thursday. Marek Mazanec made 25 saves for the Predators, who have dropped four of their last five. We had our opportunities tonight, said Mazanec. It was good to get the start, but it would have been better to get the win. Colorado scored the only goal it needed 13:49 in as Nathan MacKinnon got a couple of shots off from the right side of the net that Mazanec stopped, but Talbot was there to put home the rebound for his fourth of the season. The Avalanche made it a 2-0 game at 5:54 of the third period as Matt Duchene sent a backhand pass from the low right side to the front where Iginla sneaked in and slipped a low one-timer into the net. Varlamov polished off his 17th career shutout with eight saves in the third period and Landeskog added an empty-netter with 1:11 to play. Game Notes Colorado plays in Dallas on Tuesday ... Nashville plays in Pittsburgh on Sunday ... Iginlas goal was the 1,200th point of his career. He is the 47th player to reach that total in NHL history. Dan Hamhuis Authentic Jersey . 10 shirt. The Spurs announced on Monday that they have re-signed Matt Bonner.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Rays were still unsure Wednesday whether left-hander Matt Moore will need surgery on his ailing left elbow after he was examined by orthopedic surgeon James Andrews. Rays manager Joe Maddon said after a 7-3 loss to the Royals that the team was still awaiting results from another series of tests. Moore was getting a second opinion from Andrews after an MRI exam performed in Kansas City proved to be inconclusive. Maddon did say that it appears the ligaments in Moores elbow were not fully torn. If that was the case, season-ending surgery would be a foregone conclusion. "There is no surgery tomorrow. Thats not planned. I can tell you that," Maddon said. "We need to get all the facts and see how we want to proceed with this, see if surgery is necessary or if its not necessary. Were still waiting to find out." Moore was placed on the disabled list Tuesday, one day after feeling discomfort in his elbow during a loss to the Royals. Moore conceded at tthe time that surgery "is a possibility.dddddddddddd." Moore was dynamic for the Rays last season, going 17-4 with a 3.29 ERA, even though he was on the disabled list from July 31 to Sept. 3 because of soreness in his elbow. "I would say its quite a bit different in how it feels, in how it dangles, with regards to soreness," Moore said before Tuesday nights game. "The discomfort is similar. The severity has jumped from what I was feeling. Its frustrating." Many pitchers have been able to play several seasons with a partially torn ligament, though they often end up undergoing Tommy John surgery eventually. "We are waiting with baited breath," Rays general manager Andrew Friedman said. The Rays recalled left-hander Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham to fill Moores roster spot Tuesday. He appeared in Wednesdays game and was sent back to Durham afterward. Tampa Bay will make another roster move before a weekend series in Cincinnati. wholesale jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
