Prince Lorenzo Borghese Will Try to Find His Own Grace Kelly When He Romances 25 Beautiful American Women in the Enchanting City of Rome, On The Bachelor: Rome, Premiering October 2 at 9/8c on ABC

Prince Lorenzo Borghese, a handsome 34-year-old cosmetics entrepreneur, has been selected to star in the ninth edition of The Bachelor, when ABC's popular romance reality series returns to the network this fall. Once more the series will be set outside the United States in one of the most glamorous, romantic capitals of the world - Rome!

Prince Borghese is an American citizen who has resided in Manhattan since 1997. He was born in Milan, lived in Rome and outside Paris, and moved to Connecticut when he was five years old. Proud of his genealogy, his storied paternal ancestors include Pope Paul V (Camillo Borghese) and Cardinal Scipione Borghese, both of whom had an enormous influence on Italian art and beautifying Rome in the 1600s, and who helped finish St. Peter's Basilica. The Borghese family name and crest can be found on the façade of the famous basilica.

His parents, Prince Francesco and Princess Amanda Borghese, who met at a wedding in Madrid, will celebrate their 40th anniversary in July, and Lorenzo is hoping to find that type of long-lasting, happily-ever-after relationship. He is looking for a woman whose vibrant personality meshes with his own, a best friend with whom he shares that special chemistry which can evolve into a marriage and family. Lorenzo has two siblings himself, an older brother, Scipione, and an older sister, Ilaria, both of whom are married.

Lorenzo graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, has an MBA from Fordham University in New York and currently juggles a variety of challenging positions in the cosmetics industry. He not only is the founder and president of Royal Treatment Pet Spa, a high-end bath, body and skin care line for pets, using the finest natural cosmetics from Italy, he is also a managing partner with his father, Prince Francesco, in GT Partners, a private label Italian cosmetics company that sells numerous brands to major department stores. They currently have nine different lines, making them one of the world's largest manufacturers and importers of cosmetics, skin care treatment and bath and body products from Italy. In addition, Lorenzo is executive vice president of Multimedia Exposure, Inc., a family-owned business that acts as an agency for various products for television shopping channels in the U.S. and Europe.

Although most would think his family name and title would have led him to the right woman, Lorenzo is tired of being a bachelor, and -- not a fan of serial dating -- is excited to have the opportunity to meet 25 special bachelorettes in the hope of finding the one right woman for him and his own fairy tale ending. The challenge to find the woman of his dreams will be set against a backdrop that is both spectacular and familiar to Lorenzo, including impressive Roman sites such as the historic Forum, Colosseum and Pantheon, the romantic Trevi Fountain and the lush Villa Borghese, the largest park in Rome, which bears his family's name.

Personally, I think he's too rich to be a Bachelor contestant. Hopefully they do some tests on their ladies to see who's after his money, and who likes him for who he really is.

He should have done a Reality show the reverse of Joe Millionaire. A rich guy pretending to be a normal guy!

And I dont think it mentions in the site which country/place he is a prince of. Oh wait, Italy? Didn't know there were royalties there.

Here's one of the problems with looking for love on national television: false expectations.

At least half a dozen of the girls flown to Rome to vie for the affections of Prince Lorenzo Borghese utter some version of how they have always dreamed of living a fairy tale/marrying a prince/being a princess.

The operative word here is "girls." Because, you see, women stop dreaming of the prince around the same time they stop putting unicorn and rainbow stickers on their notebooks.

We would be much more impressed if one of them said she was in it for the free makeup.

Another problem is having a Bachelor who says he doesn't "like girls who are forward." Because that makes for some boring TV.

Luckily, Lorenzo either is a bad judge of what's "forward," or a producer took him aside and let him inn on the fact that it is in his (and the show's) best interest to keep some potential drama queens in the mix.

He did get rid of Andrea (the hotel conceirge who serenaded him with an aria from a balcony), Heather (the 34-year-old nurse who can't hold her wine), Rosella (who sold her car to pay for her wardrobe) and Elyse (the obnoxious physican who thought challenging him was the best route). Yet, somehow party girl Desiree, tiara-wearing Paris Hilton wannabe Erica and sneering Gina all managed to make the cut.

We're also teased that in the weeks to come one of the girls becomes obsessed with our fair prince. See, Lorenzo, it's those quiet ones you have to watch out for.
