So...sticking by my earlier post, Tom's bitterness is due in part to his culture which would include his upbringing and the examples set for him by those he grew up with. Other cultures, like the one that my spouse hails from insists on arguing things to death...then laughing and hugging and going on afterwards, even if the argument nearly crushed someone's spirit.

Personally, I was raised to not say anything if I couldn't find something nice to say. While that philosophy raised me to be a polite adult, it also created a superficiality about me that I'm still trying to shake to this day.

Rup: Your post about "culture, good ol boys and friends" may be true in LIFE but Survivor is just a GAME. You'd have to check your friendships at the door in order to play this game well.

This show would be mighty boring if it were a bunch of Tina's, Rupert's and Ethan's.

Nope, don't question the morals and ethics of it at all. Just giving my opinion on a couple of the players. If you keep repeating yourself, it's because you like to hear yourself rattle on...
