I could really care less about the guys this season. No one that I look forward to hearing. No Bo Bice, Chris Daughtry or Taylor Hicks. Didn't even make it through last night's show before switching the channels. Not a doubt in my mind that a gal will win this time.

For the guys, Blake and Chris Richardson are people to watch. They do not have the best vocals, but they kinda have something special in them. They bring their own style of singing. I have no doubt that Blake will go far, and I hope that Chris will make the top 12! He deserves to be there! Sundance and Chris Sligh deserve to be in the top 12 too, for their great voices and sincerity. As for the rest, well... we'll see. Phil Stacey could do well too.

The girls just ROCK! Alright, maybe with the exception of Antonella and Hayley lol. I really hope the other 6 girls make the final 12, they're really, really good singers. Melinda was just... PHENOMENAL! She's GOT TO BE IN THE TOP 12!!!!!!!!!

American Idol's results show tonight. Yikes!!! If the TEENIE BOPPERS don't stop voting for the cutest, hottest looking thing up there, instead of talent....Idol will be on its way out in a hurry. Such a shame, as it has made a huge name for itself and is respected now as a valid way to launch a singing career. Sabrina and Sundance should be in the top 12. NOT cutie Sanjaya or Haley. :steamed:

How could Sanjaya and Haley have stayed until now? They should have long been gone. ARGH!!!!!! American Idol, please don't let the viewers down when the finals begin!

It always goes this way.

In the end Sundance was better than Sanjaya, but I don't think either could have won this thing. He left too soon, but he wasn't top 2. The same for Sabrina...she's better than Haley, but neither was going to beat some of the other gals.

Sabrina deserves the top 12 spot, everyone knows and i think she knows she tried her best.

There's a few things i'll do for future American Idol episodes for this season -

1. Root for the girls.
2. Ignore the guys.
3. Root for Melinda.
4. Pray for all the guys to not make the top 5.
5. Pray for Sanjaya and Haley to be out soon.
6. Pray for all the above to happen.

Can I just say that imo this is the worst season of AI EVER! If it weren't for a couple of the gals, I would quit watching. I find it very hard to believe that these contestants were the best they could come up with. And if they were as dedicated to finding singers as they were to entertaining the public, we might have found more stars. I hate to think of all the great singers they missed by allowing the freaks to audition.

Yeah, so much for their claim that every year, the Top 12 will consist of better singers than the previous year. Last year's batch of finalists was way better than this year's. Last night's episode was... really boring. It's the finals, and they're still not giving phenomenal performances. Melinda, Lakisha and Jordin were strong as usual. The rest of the performances were disappointing, Sanjaya's especially. I never thought Haley was horrible, perhaps undeserving of the Top 12. However, she was not that bad last night, I hope she gets another chance. She could improve, really.

Nope Rhune, VFTW actually didn't have that much power. It's actually the city that Sanjaya comes from that has been voting for him constantly. I believe that Sanjaya will not make the top 9. George Stevens made the final 6 because his singing wasn't that bad, and there's a bit of style and class to his singing. But basically Sanjaya, after weeks of mediocre performance aren't improving at all. If he makes it through next week with a mediocre performance, then he'll be out the following week. America eventually will make the right decision.

American Idol isn't like Singapore Idol.. where each episode we don't even receive like more than 500,000 votes.. the finale had only about 1 million votes only. Hence the bad singers were able to go all the way to the final 4, where the good ones which didn't make it but the judges chose as wildcards went early. That's why American Idol's like the best singing contest ever, even with controversy like this.

Every contestant has their city voting for them, so that pretty much negates each other. Federal Way isn't that big (my husband's family lives there, I have visited it many times), and the vote is split with Blake, who's also from the Seattle area and is a much stronger performer. Howard Stern + vote for the worst had more influence than the people from Federal Way. VTFW has a strong following and they have pushed a contestant through consistently to the top 5 or 6 each season except the first. Once you get past that stage their group becomes too small as the people who's contestants are gone start to vote for their next best favorite and so on. It's the same pattern each season.

I'm glad to see that the contestants have improved this week. Still, my wish of Sanjaya being out soon has not been fulfilled. True, he let it go this week, but it didn't sound entirely smooth and pleasing to the ears. I guess his vocals are currently still more suited for ballads.

Wow, Stephanie so shouldn't be out this week! Her performances haven't been phenomenal lately, but she's still way better than some of the other contestants in terms of vocals.

I never really warmed up to Gina. I thought her personalty came across as rough and bitchy in Hollywood week. I think she has a good voice, and maybe I only saw a negative spin on her, I know how they do those things on reality tv, but still, because of that I never warmed up to her and wasn't that sad to see her go.

This was not an excellent week eh. First, none of the divas managed to please Simon. I thought that Melinda looked a little uncomfortable on stage. She shouldn't have done that hair. Lol. Nevertheless, I still love her. Sanjaya was alright this week. I wouldn't say he was good, but well, at least it sounded pleasing to the ears. This is his genre I guess. Smooth without much punch required. So, Blake was the best of the night, according to Simon. His performance was great, I agree. But I can't bring myself to really like him.

No surprises about the bottom three this week. I'm really glad Chris is safe though. =) Haley's gone, I wasn't surprised, though I did expect Phil would go before her. Oh well, I'll miss Haley. She has really improved!

Hopefully, next week will be better. They're going Country!

Chris' performance was REALLY nasally and it kinda got on my nerves lol. But I still hope that he doesn't leave this week, 'cause SOMEONE ELSE clearly deserves to go instead. And I like Chris! Lol.

Lakisha looked good, but it was just a wrong song choice. It didn't get to me at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she's in the bottom 3 this week. I just hope that she doesn't leave.

Here's the breakdown. No matter what these guys will have careers. So a difference of one position isn't going to destroy their chances of having a contract - as long as none of them get arrested, it's practically a given. Ranking these four is going to be hard, but here's what I think. Lakisha pretty much has 4th plastered all over her. Blake/Melinda/Jordin are all jockeying for the win. Melinda will probably not win, but might be 2nd or 3rd. I imagine Jordin will win, Melinda is 2nd and Blake will be 3rd.

This season is great because the best 4 singers made the top 4. However, it's going to be hard to choose who goes next.

Base on this -

I'm pretty positive Lakisha is going next and Blake might just surprise us by entering the final 2.

I'm 100% positive that all of Chris voters will now be switching to root for Blake. Unless Phil's supporter starts rooting for Lakisha now, i think she's gone.

Based on the chart, every besides Hayley hasn't been in the bottom 2/3 in their previous week prior to elimination.

Melinda has had a measurable amount of success to date. She will continue working.

Blake has the entire US girlie vote.

I'm afraid Jordin will not have enough votes to carry her through. And that is sad. She has the most talent by far. If she gets voted off, I will no longer be watching.

I love what he did with Bon Jovi week, I like that he's contemporary and takes risks. I agree with Lake that Lakisha should go next. I think no one is denying she's talented, but there are others who have surpassed her in the competition at this point. For me, her music is too repetetive. It's the right music for her to sing, but I think the winner should be more versatile ultimately. Melinda is a fantastic singer, but she's older and fairly old fashioned, and that will cost her votes on a how like this. Again, I don't think it matters, Melinda will get a contract with them just the same as Jordin, and I would be pretty surprised if they didn't extend it to Blake too...Blake is marketable in a musical genre they haven't tapped yet, and sales for any album he put out would not interfere with sales from the girls' market. If Lakisha gets a contract with them, I suspect it will be like Frenchy & Digarmo, where they market her at musical theatre. I She would find a good niche there, and I can't picture them trying to mainstream her. Now Jordin simple screams mainstream R&B and pop music. She's the moneymaker, and the judges clearly know it.
