Issued Saturday May 3.
Jenna Hart

3 yrs., white female with blue eyes and blond hair, last seen wearing black pants a white t-shirt and white tennis shoes.

Abducted in Madison Heights MI, USA by a black male in his 50's, 6' 1" with "salt and pepper" hair and last seen wearing a 3/4 length leather jacket and a baseball cap.

The suspect is driving a 2001 Maroon Merc. Sable with Michigan Lic. 1EQF56. The car has damage to the pass. side mirror and has the little "donut" spare tire on the front passenger side.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Madison Heights PD at 248-585-2100 or dial 911.

Jenna Hart

Detroit police say they received an anonymous tip at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday about the girl's location. Police recovered Jenna and the stolen car although the suspect is still at large.

Hart was reported missing after the suspect approached a woman outside a Toys R Us store in Madison Heights, pointed out that her car had a flat tire and offered to help change it.

Jenna is undergoing a medical evaluation before being returned to her family.

She had been abducted in Madison Heights MI, USA by a black male in his 50's, 6' 1" with "salt and pepper" hair and last seen wearing a 3/4 length leather jacket and a baseball cap.

I agree Rhune - it is a miracle this story has a happy ending but I also think it's because of how quickly and widely broadcast the incident became because of the Amber alert system.

All that matters is that the little girl is safe. Thank goodness.

Yes, I was very surprised that they found her so quickly and alive, in this case. The last few alerts, people have been taken by family members, but this one was clearly a strange abduction, and she's a pretty little girl. Unfortunately people like that exist. I know I've posted this before, but most states and I would think they do the same in Canada, require sex offenders to register. Unfortunately, most states have "passive" laws, and that means they won't notify you if someone moves into your neighborhood, you have to ask and find out. Most states are now up on the web though, and you can go to the sites and look to see who is in your area. I went looking for my city one day and found a great site for this area that had pictures and information on each one. I mortified to find one was living 4 blocks from my house, but I'm glad I know rather than not. I am very careful when my son is in our backyard and probably keep more of an active eye on him as a result.
