I think that depends very much on the individual.  Unfortunately we are not all cookie-cutter shapes that fit into any ideal of what a book or a person says all men or all women want.  I think *most* people want the same basic thing - to find someone they are compatible with for companionship and/or love, and to be happy.

Lorita, it depends on your age really.   As a teenager, I wanted someone who was cute and treated me well.  As I got older, cuteness didn't matter as much as personality, except he had to have some something that attracted me.  A sense of humor is absolutely a necessary personality trait, and I agree he'd need to be loyal and truthful......and a decent human being.  Wow, sounding more and more like a boy scout.     It's also very good to have similar interests, in some things at least.  
 
Now my question is, are you a girl, a woman or a guy sounding out the opposite sex?   LOL
