At this point I'm not on full bed rest, but I'm out on medical leave from work, which sucks a bit. All the sick and vacation time I had saved up to use after the baby was born is now being used up before the baby even gets here. I ordered a lap top though and there is some work I'll be able to do from bed after all. It would be nice not to have to do any at all, but this is real life and income is a factor. The absolute earliest my dr would induce me or let me go into labor is March 19th, because that's when I'll hit 36 weeks. I'm betting it will be March 25th or 26th though, since that's a full moon and the full moon always gives me insane contractions. Last full moon put me in the hospital for several hours to stop them. How am I feeling? Like crap, lol. At this point I have multiple complications (Gestational Diabetes, High Blood Pressure & Oversized Baby). If I'm sitting up too long I get dizzy and sick feeling and a numb spot starts to form in the middle of my back, and have to lay down. I can't really do any kind of walking or exercise - nothing strenuous. That's one of the reasons I went ahead and ordered the lap top. There's only so much sleeping and book reading one can do in bed.

With gestational diabetes you run the risk of having the baby grow either too quickly or too slowly. There are 2 risks with growing too quickly. One is that even though the size of the baby is large, the internal organs are still developing at a normal pace, so the baby can get too large, sending the mother into labor before the baby is ready. The second issue is that if the baby gets over 10 pounds, they run the risk of developing childhood diabetes. If they grow too slowly, then they run other health risks from being so small and underweight, etc. If you can get the diet and insulin balanced right the baby will grow at a normal pace. At this point they have upped my insulin in the hopes they can slow him down a little.

I do remember Addams' Anniversary is Aprl 16th.
