I think i have a low grade of this.  Once i get a thought into my head i can't think of anything else until it's taken care of.  (odd since i am so forgetful about certain things)

For example.  I have to check the door several times at night before i go to bed to make sure its locked.

I have been known to drive back to my house just to make sure that the door is locked or that the oven is off (even if i didn't use it!)

But it doesn't control my life.  If i make it to school and the thought comes, crap what if i didn't lock that door! I just worry about it all day, but i don't drive alllll the way back.

I need help lol

I am nuts.  There are things that I do that make me think that I am compulsive.  For one, everything has to be even.  The lengh of my pants, sleves just everything.  I just had a pair of paints hemed and I cant were them anymore.  There uneven.  Now im not the only one who is like this, my b/f is too.  He's nuttier then me.  He is so afraid to have bad breath, he brushes his teeth anywhere from 5 -20 times a day.  Everything must also have to be even for him as well.  Im not as bad as him, everything from the couch to the bad needs to be just perfect.  I cant remember how many times I have been in bed and the bed shakes b/c he is making it even.

Azure, I'm going to do to you what LL does to me,  :punch:

If any of you have seen "The Aviator", Howard Hughes was definitely an OCD!

My husband and I are definitely 'neat freaks' but not to the extent of OCD.

We have a runner on the Dining Room Table, I scrunched it up, he would come by and straighten it.  This went on back and forth for almost 3 weeks.  Then one day he asked me if I meant for it to be scrunched up.  I told him I did!  We laughed about this and still tell the story and have a laugh.

Angel, I also get something on my mind and keep it there until it is done!
Mostly with household chores, or deadlines.  Drives me nuts!
........but you won't see me down on the floor scrubbing with a toothbrush Roll Eyes

Today the menu for Mother's Day Dinner is on my mind.  I think of one thing, then think of another and can't completely decide.  Yes, I know we all could go out, but I want to stay home, have my Mom, my Children, their Spouses, & Grandchildren
over here.  Keeping our fingers crossed that our weather will be good so we can swim and enjoy the back yard.

There are some GREAT therapies and medications out now for OCD.  If anyone reading this is suffering from it to the point where it interferes with their relationships with others, I urge you to seek help.  This is absolutely something that can be controlled and doesn't have to control you.

I honestly think I have it.  I always have to be clean, and I have to have things in order.  If I go to an amusement park, I have to make sure the people I'm with are in an order when it comes to seating.

I can be obsessive about things, but I do not have OCD. People who have OCD tend to personify inanimate objects in a way to explain their weird obsessions. With none of my obsessions, do I ever say any inanimate object has feelings or emotions. Like, one of my obsessions is closed doors. It drives me nuts if a door is ever left open, but my excuse has never been that "it looks uncomfortable" or anything like that.

Anyways, I do tend to have high levels of anxiety and stress, but I hear that it may just be my diet. I am changing what I eat because apparantly what I eat now and what I don't eat (therefore lack the benefits from) is having affects on my conscious state and a lot of problems I've been having with anxiety, paranoia, and concentration may start to go away somewhat or all together if I change my diet for the better.

Diet can play a huge factor in your emotional well being as well as your physical well being.  There are foods that may trigger reactions you don't even think of.  For example, as someone with ADHD, I am especially sensitive to foods with red food dye added.  They give me a huge burst of energy followed by an energy crash with moodiness and irritability.

We all have "quirks" but I knew a man with a serious case of OCD. He got so bad he couldn't leave the mirror for fear of some wart growing on this face. He kept picking at his face until he had to be hospitalized.

All new Mothers are obsessive, especially with the first baby!

Just don't be "too clean" with her.  She will need to build up immunities.  Let her on the floor and don't sterilize everything she drops.   We learned this with the first Granddaughter.
She was in the hospital for 10 days because of not enough  immunities to fight off germs.
From then on she was taken out and enrolled in
Mother's Day Out at the Church the next year.

Yikes. I'm like that also.  Undecided

But it doesn't cause any problems so I guess it's ok, I think it's not OCD.

Shocked

OK, I click "YES" and then see the results and there's only one.. does that mean I'm the only OCD??  My daughter and I are both OCD and both ADHD.  Mine is mild, doesn't disrupt my life, but there are certain things that have to be done certain ways or I freak out.

My daughter has a thing about numbers... even to the point that the "volume bars" on the tv have to be on 3 or 5, can't have it on the fourth one...

Speaking of OCDS, may I just say Monk is the best non-reality show on television. Anyways, I do have a weird one. Whenever I'm doing sokmething with numbers, regardless of what, everythin has to be rounded to a whole or the nearest half.  Roll Eyes
