What TV shows have you QUIT watching ?

Is anyone still watching the shows they thought would be favorites at the beginning of the season?

I'd like to know which ones you found disappointing and thrown out of the mix, and which ones are you still watching?

Thrown out:

Bones, Medium, Supernatural, PrisonBreak.

Bones and supernatural were over-hyped, once I found out the formula, it bored me.

Prison Break has become very predictable, and I am jaded from how awesome OZ was in the prison drama category.

Medium is just getting "meh", boooring.

Still watching:

Apprentice this season, Psychic detectives, Real world (though i don't know why....), Parko P.I. (same night as Psychic detectives),Invasion (borderline lame), I can't think of others right now, I will update soon.

My b/f and I watched the first show and that was it. You are right it was over-hyped.

Medium:

While repeats were on for all our other shows , we decided to check it out and we got hooked. When this season started we havent missed a show, we find it very intersting and very far from boring.

ALL of them, but not by choice. The cable system was wrecked by Rita, so we're waiting to get an antenna up, and Dish installed. I'm missing Lost, and Survivor. Lost is the critical one, though. It's hard to keep up when you miss shows.

All the Sci-Fi or supernatural shows, I have not bothered even watching because there are too many of them, and they aren't really my taste, but Lost is the only one I watch because it got a lot of buzz so I'm watching that.

I thought Prison Break is actually pretty good. Missed the first few episodes. Can't wait till the show comes back October 21?

Alias, I'm watching again. It's opposite Survivor, but I just switch back and forth, and they replay Alias on Sunday, so that's okay.

So no, there isn't any favorites at the start of the season I've stopped watching.

I used to watch religiously Will & Grace but haven't catched an episode this season... I also abandoned Joey (not a big loss)...
And I quit watching The Apprentice : Martha Stewart after only 2 episodes.

But the show I never thought I would stop watching (I was so hooked) but did is ER. I was a really big fan, but it just got... repetitive or I don't know... never ending...

We also stopped watching CSI (Vegas) for that same reason. Too mush gore, not enough plot. The same thing goes for L&O:SVU. It lost me in the first episode this season when Elliot spent the whole episode baiting that parolee into kidnapping the girl & then beat the crap out of him. It just rubbed the wrong way in all the wrong places.

I'm still watching Survivor even though a lot of people I know have stopped or are not really digging this season.

I gave ABC's remake of "The Nightstalker" a chance, but I'm not liking it too much. I especially don't like the female character they've got playing opposite of Kolchak. He works alone.... However remembering this show from my childhood prompted me to get the old epsidoes on DVD through my Netfilx (which rocks) membership & I've been enjoying these all over again.

The show I look forward to most this season is 'My Name is Earl." Hugely amusing in my book.

A month of new shows and they start reruns.
This is horrible for what a TV cost, plus teh Cable fee @ month!

I haven't really quit watching anything. I was late in picking up the Apprentice 4 and The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, but watch them when I get the chance. The same is true with TAR 8. Not a big fan of the seasons for any of those shows, but won't completely abandon them.

I seem to miss The Biggest Loser 2 a lot, too, though.

rcs_mum, what is up with Reichen's radio show at the fishbowl? I finally get a Tuesday night that I can be home for it and it's not on. I looked for it in the archives and didn't see it, either.

i quit watching survivor. kinda. i watched the first 2 episodes then gave up for the rest of the season but then saw the finale. lol. i think thats it.

I admit I watch a lot of tv, however I cannot focus on writing a paper, typing lecture notes, preparing seminar notes/handouts/powerpoints etc without noise in the background, so I watch TV to distract me. The only homework I do without noise and distraction (and is quite often done in the library to prevent the tv temptation) is reading and studying bc that needs complete focus.

Not to mention I watch tv for the social aspect, as usually a few friends and I will watch it.

If you think about it, a lot members here are high school students (and therefore in school an average of 35 hours a week), many members work full time (what is that now 40 hours a week?). People here also sleep we'll say 7 hours a night.

Really during the school week Monday-Friday if you are at school until 4 and have dinner, there is really not much to do in the evening, so why not watch TV.

Personally I find I have no time in the week to go out to the bar, the mall, in town, so I keep sane by watching tv to escape reality.

When I watch TV I focus myself into the show so that I forget about school.

I quit watching Law and Order CI. I've never watched The OC but it's a huge ratings winner here.

Supernatural has only just started here so I'll give it a go for a few more eps and see how it does.

and for some strange reason I could never really get into Desperate housewives. i watched a few eps and that was it!

Okay, it's a new season and I'm already bored w/ some of the shows. I've stopped watching:

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition because I'd rather watch TAR
Desperate Housewives is boring; watch Cold Case instead
The Nine...1st eppy didn't grab me; going back to CSI:NY
