'Nashville Star' Tunes Up for Season Four

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The first three seasons of "Nashville Star" have led to gold records and Country Music Award nominations for its winners, not to mention solid ratings for the USA Network.
Both the network and those hoping to make it on Music Row will get another shot at success starting later this month, when auditions for the fourth "Nashville Star" begin. After kicking off Friday, Oct. 21 in Los Angeles, the show will travel to 16 more cities across the country in search of talented singer-songwriters looking for a shot at country-music stardom.
 
"'Nashville Star' works because it showcases the best untapped musical talent on television," says Jeff Wachtel, head of original programming for USA. "One thing we've learned over the past three seasons is that there's an incredible pool of talented performers whose voices have yet to be heard."
 
Auditions for season four will hit the expected spots, including Chicago, Nashville and Atlanta. But the show will also search for talent in places like Oklahoma City, Lincoln, Neb., and Morgantown, W. Va. Details on audition dates and times are at USANetwork.com.
As with past seasons, the winner will receive a recording contract with a "top-level" label, which previous champs Buddy Jewell, Brad Cotter and Erika Jo have used as a springboard to chart success. "Nashville Star's" fourth season is scheduled to premiere in March.

NASHVILLE STAR SELECTS REGIONAL FINALISTS
 
The producers of Nashville Star have narrowed the field of contestants to an initial list of 42 performers, who will compete at the Regional Finals in January for a shot at being country music's next sensation.
 
Regionals will take place in Houston at Tumbleweed Texas on Jan. 3-4 and in Nashville at Wildhorse Saloon on Jan. 6-7. Congrats to the Regional Finalists and good luck to everyone who auditioned at Open Calls from all of us at Nashville Star!
 
WYNONNA JUDD, COWBOY TROY NAMED NEW HOSTS
 
Five-time Grammy Award Winning Superstar Wynonna Judd and
Hick-Hop originator Cowboy Troy have been announced as the new hosts for the fourth season of USA Network’s Nashville Star.  
Returning from last season are famed singer/songwriter Phil Vassar and music and movie industry executive Anastasia Brown. Vassar and Brown will be joined by a rotating special celebrity guest judge each week throughout the season.  
 
SEASON FOUR BEGINS TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 2006
 
Nashville Star returns to USA Network with the premiere episode of Season 4 on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 10/9C.

Tomorrow night, Hank Jr will perform and Ashley Judd will guest!

Joining that quartet will be an eclectic mix of celebrity guests. Country icon Hank Williams Jr. will perform his newest single, Velvet Revolver bandmates Scott Weiland and Duff McKagan will man the guest judge spot and Wy's little sister, Ashley, will make a special appearance

A final three of Nicole Jamrose, Casey Rivers and Chris Young will take the stage at the Acuff Theatre for the last time -- and one will be left standing as the newest Nashville Star!  
There will be many surprises during the 90-minute finale, as Big & Rich take a second shot as guest judges, Cowboy Troy and Jason Aldean perform live, and some familiar faces return to cap an incredible season. And before the big moment, each of the contestants will sing the songs you selected for them.
