According to CBS Upfront presentation today, AR will be on Saturday nights at 9 PM. Yes, this is not so great of a timeslot, BUT its 2 back to back seasons of TAR that will most likely end/start in the same week! (AR5 finale - Sept 28...AR6 premiere likely Oct 2)

From July 6th - Late December AR is set in stone (unless ratings are really bad)!!!

AR6 will be crunched between 48 hours and "Crimetime saturday" (reruns of crime shows).

EDIT: CBS now announced they changed it to be Saturdays at 8 PM instead of the previously announced 9.

The 6th Amazing Race site is up (only 20 days after the 5th!!!)

And the premiere is September...not Oct 2 as i speculated earlier.

This confirms awesome news of 2 back-to-back seasons!!! Grin

That must be why its called the "amazing" race Wink

And they will need something to fill that timeslot in the spring...so AR7 is likely as long as AR5 and 6 can get 9 mil+ viewers per episode

My only fear with two races essentially going back-to-back is that it will lose some of its "appeal." (Appeal really isn't the right word to use there!). Now that I've been waiting 8-9 months for the Amazing Race to start again, I can't wait for it to begin. Will I be as excited if I only have to wait a week or two? (I will be! Others may not be!)

I know I began to lose interest in Survivor when they started cranking them out more and more quickly.

Anyways, just my :twocents:

Problem is...CBS already has a plan to use the Saturday 9 PM slot in the spring for Domestic Diva (hopefully that screws up...IMO)

So expect another waiting a year for TAR...unless they feel nice enough for moving TAR7 to a nice primetime slot during the weekdays.

CBS has changed the time scheduling of TAR6 from

Saturdays 9-10 PM (ET)

to
Saturdays 8-9 PM (ET)

Amazing Race will lead the night...no lead in...but those who want to go out at night wont' have to miss it.

After TAR5...going right into TAR6 (most likely the same week)

it will hurt my mind to go from 11 teams to another 11 in just 4 days...i lilked the 2 month fall/spring break (i did not like the 10 month summer-summer break)
