Post something you learned today that was interesting.

In Home Ec, I learned that muscle twitches are caused by a lack of potassium. I remember having a muscle spasm in my arm a few nights before that class, and it felt so bizarre. I never knew it was from a lack of potassium. I will eat more bananas now, lol.

There are 6 types of love.

-Eros Love: Seeks beauty and sensuality and focuses on physical attractiveness, sometimes to the exclusion of qualities we might consider more important and more long lasting. The erotic lover has an idealized image of beauty hat is unattainable in reality. Consequently, the erotic lover often feels unfulfilled.

-Ludic Love: seeks entertainment and excitement. Sees love as a game. To a ludice lover, love is not to be taken too seriously, and emotions are to be held in check lest they get out of hand and make trouble. The ludic lover retains a partner only as long as the person is interesting and amusing. When the partner is no longer interesting enough, it is time to change.

-Storge love is peaceful and tranquil love. Like the ludic love, storge love lacks passion and intensity. Storgic lovers set out not to find a lover, but to establish a companionship with someone they know nd whom they can share interests and activities. Storgic love is a process of unfolding thoughts and feelings. It is sometimes difficult to separate from friendship.

-Pragma love is practical and traditional. It seeks compatibility and a relationship in which important needs and desires will be satisfied. A pragma lover is concerned with the social qualifications of a potential mate more than with personal qualities. Family and background are extremely important to the pragma lover, who relies not so much on feelings as on logic.

-Manic love is an obsessive love that needs and requires constant attention and affection. When this is not given or received, or when an expression of increased commitment is not returned, reactions such as jealousy, depression, and self doubt are experienced and can ead to the extreme low characteristics of the manic lover.

-Agapic love is compassionate and selfless. The agapic lover loves everyone. This is the love preached by Jesus, Gandhi, Buddha etc. This love is offered without concern for personal reward or gain and without any expectation that the love will be returned or reciprocated.

One thing I learned today was that drawing pictures to explain scientific processes is FUN!! I drew a little comic to explain protein synthesis and had so much fun with it. It was like a real comic, with talking nuclei and DNA that whined every time it had to split. lol, I loved it.
