KIEV， Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine will send a team of 155 athletes， the largest Paralympic squad in the country's history， to the Rio 2016 Paralympics， Sports Minister Igor Zhdanov announced here on Friday.
"Our team will take part in 14 out of 22 sports，" Zhdanov told a press conference in Kiev.
Ukrainian Paralympians will compete in rowing， sitting volleyball， judo， table tennis， powerlifting， swimming， archery， shooting， wheelchair fencing， football 7-a-side， road cycling， track cycling， paracanoe and goalball.
Zhdanov said that the Ukrainian Paralympic champions will be rewarded with a bonus of 40，000 U.S. dollars， while silver and bronze medalists will get cash prizes of 26，000 and 18，000 dollars respectively.
Overall， Ukraine will spend about 2.7 million dollars to prepare its squad for the Rio Paralympic Games， the minister said.
The Ukrainian team became a pride of the nation during the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London， winning 32 gold， 24 silver and 28 bronze medals. It ranked the fourth after China， Russia and Britain.
