I saw discussion in the Amazing Race 20 so I decided to make this.  It sounds like a great Idea I just don't know how to do it so Ideas can go here.

Well, the way they did it Season 19 was to have people find a word and then insert into a URL, thus taking them to the next clue. An example clue:

Who was the first woman to win the Amazing Race? Type in www.something.com/race/WOMAN'S NAME.html to find your next clue.

A roadblock requires you to do something more difficult like this:

Find out what your rank is if you score this many points in this game. Then type in www.something.com/race/RANKNAME.html to find your next clue.

A final pitstop clue may read"

Go to www.something.com/race/afdshfasywe98ry9237.html to get to your next pitstop. Last six teams to check in will be eliminated.

So you need a lot of these websites to get it to work properly.

How about people have to apply to be Phil? Then we can get people who are good at computers to do it.

Also, the players need to be online at the same time, and they use AIM for the Pit Stop.

The only problem is that the Filipino members only have Yahoo! and no AIM.

Maybe instead of AIM we could do Forumsnet chatroom.

Filipinos can download AIM easily (I have it).

We can use Forumsnet chatroom but if we use it then any player can enter the Pit Stop without finishing it.

The game is played (I think), by going thru the pages one at a time. You can't go to the next page without looking for a certain word. Once you passed all thru the pages and arrived at the next clue, there will probably be a hidden word there that you will send to the Host (by IMing him). The Host will then send you a chat invite to the Pit Stop chatroom.

The next leg starts 10 minutes after you checked in the Pit Stop.

Since it is summer, maybe we CAN do something like this.  Cheesy

I can't figure out to get AIM to work. I use MSN.

The whole getting everyone online at the same time is the hardest part. Maybe if we could somehow time how fast everyone finishes, then compare the times...

It's hard to sign up for AIM at first, but once you have a username registered, you can just download the AIM installer and install it.

We can do that (timing the user's speed in completing a leg), but it won't work on regular HTMLs (what the original game uses). You need web scripts for that (PHP, ASP, CGI/Perl), since it will use databases. I know how to make PHP web pages, but finding a server to host it will be the tricky part. I know of a free PHP server but I haven't really used it yet (my account there expired, actually).

Anyway, just give me some time to think this thru and we may be able to come up with something.  Grin
