For each round, I will post a series of things that must be mentioned when writing your stories.

Round 1

TEAM: Team you have selected.

OTHER TEAMS RACING: Teams that your opponents have selected.

ROUTE: Starting line at the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. to Pitstop 1, Caracas, Venezuela.

DETOUR: Mind or Find.

ROADBLOCK: Who's Sad?

The deadline for Round 1 is Monday, August 29th, 2005 7 PM EST.

OTHER TEAMS RACING: everyone else!

Day 1:

Starting Point, Washington D.C. Monument

Derek: I never thought we'd be racing again. Let's see this time if we don't mess up.

Drew: I agree with you.

(They look around and see John Vito/Jill, but recognize no-one else, although they recognize Rob/Amber from Survivor.)

Derek: Not another famous team again... *sighs*

Drew: There's nothing to it. Don't get so uptight... if I remember the last time we raced YOU were the one who's calm-headed.

*Derek throws him a dirty look*

Phil *Grand Entrace* : Welcome again to the Amazing Race! Yes, I'm still the host, but the rules have changed a bit. *looks to Kevin/Drew, Derek/Drew, and John Vito/Jill* Now, the Fast forwards are limted to two for the entire Race-

Drew: *whispers to Derek*: What?! How could that have occurred?

Derek *whispers back*: I don't know. Times are changing.

*both return their attention to Phil, who is still explaining the new changes*

Phil:- and there is the case of the Yield. Anyone who wishes to use the Yield, can only do so once, so you must decide when it is most ostentatious to use it. Oh, and might I add: No person can do more than Six Roadblocks during the entire race, so you have to choose who shall do the Roadblocks per leg.
Your bags are over there*points*, and the first clue is waiting on top of your bags.

Good luck, travel safe, and... *raises hand*

GO!

*a mad frenzy ensues as the teams run for their luggage. Drew, having the biggest head start, gets there first, with Derek trailing right behind him.*

Drew *ripping clue open*: You must travel to Caracas, Venezuela, on one of these two flights: American Airlines Flight 449, or United Flight 273. When you get there, head to Puerto Cabello, and look for the Clue Box at Recurso De la Playa De Puerto Cabello near one of the entrance. You have $ 200 for this leg of the race.

Derek *picking up their bags*: Let's go, let's go, let's go!

*both run to where the cars are parked, pick one, flip the trunk open, throw their bags in, and race for the front seats.*

Drew: Come on! *starts ignition* We have to get there ahead of the rest!

*Derek looks around, and sees four of the ten cars have left the parking lot*.

Derek: Drew, floor it!

The Amazing Race is ON!

Washington D.C. International Airport

*chaos reigns*

Derek: Drew! Let's go to American! We made that one big mistake last time, let's not make it again!

*Drew nods, then they bolt for the American Airlines counter. To their annoyance, three teams are ahead of them.*

Derek: Come on, hurry up, hurry up...

*the line moves forward, and Derek does the talking.*

Derek: Do you still have tickets for the flight to Venezuela?

Teller: Let me check, Sir. *starts typing*

Drew: Please, be lucky...

Teller *after a few minutes*: Yes, we still have a few seats left. Would you like to take them?

Derek and Drew: Yes!

*tickets are processed, passports are checked, their bags go through inspection, and finally...*

Drew: Yes! We're on our way!

Caracas, Venezuela

Caracas International Airport
Four hours later

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Derek: You seen anyone else?

Drew: Yeah, John Vito, Rob, and Adam... and they're already at the doorways...

Derek: Let's go!

*they run towards the exit as if they were being chased by a herd of bulls, and manage to get a taxi.*

Taxi Driver: żA dónde? *TRanslation: Where to?*

Drew: ĄObténganos a Recurso De la Playa De Puerto Cabello tan rápidamente como sea posible! *Translation: Get us to Puerto Cabello Beach Resort as fast as you can!*

*Derek stares at him, he grins*

Drew: What? Remember when we were in Mexico and we didn't know a single word of Spanish? I took the liberty of learning the language.

*Derek grins bemusedly*

The taxi roars past all the traffic, and takes a shortcut.

Taxi Driver: Tomaré este atajo para llegar a allí adelante de esos taxis nosotros pasamos earler. żBueno con usted? *Translation: I'll take this shortcut to get there ahead of those taxis we passed earler. Okay with you?*

Drew: Si.

*he grins back at his twin*

*Two and a half hours later, they arrive at the Resort. They tell their driver to wait for them, and to their utter shock, John Vito/Jill have arrived ahead of them, and are already doing the Detour.*

Drew: What?! How'd they get here so quick?

Derek: Luck... who knows?

*They make a mad dash for the clue box, right at the entrance of the hotrl. Derek opens it, and reads the clue:*

Derek: You must now enter the Resort and look for Canbana Number 26, wherein the next route marker is waiting.

*Phil cuts in the commentary: However, they shall have a certain amount of trouble finding the Cabana, as there are over 300 in the Resort.*

Drew *throwing his bag down*: Let's go!

*they both enter the resort, and start searching like crazy. One hour passes, however, and they haven't found the Cabana (in which John Vito/Jill have already left the Resort with their next clue). Luckily, they meet a band of American tourists, tanning themselves on the beach, and they happily point out where Cabana 26 is. Drew gets there first, and decides to snatch the clue from the cluebox.*

Drew *reads it out loud*: Oh, man, it's a Detour.

*Phil cuts into commentary: The Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour, teams need to decide to either Mind, or Find. In Mind, teams will have to play a memory game with the Resort's Game Master, wherein they must find the next clue hidden among other paired items in less than three tries. In Find, teams will have to go to a certain spot on the Beach, and start digging for their next clue.*

Derek: What shall we do?

Drew *deciding*: Find! Mind... I'm not so sure we'll find it the first time...

Derek: If you insist.

*They both run to the designated marked spot, and see another sand pit where, obviously, John Vito and Jill have been digging. Derek looks back, and sees that Rob and Amber have alredy arrived.*

Drew: Start looking!

*they make their way through the sand, digging with their own hands. This process continues for nearly an hour, until...*

Derek: I found it! *waves a ziplocked bag with the clue in it*

*around the same time, Rob and Amber have already left the Resort, while Adam and Rebecca are already at the clue box. The other teams have yet to be seen.*

Derek *reads the clue*: Teams must now travel to Valencia, a small town a few miles from Puerto Cabello. They must find the local Mayor's hosue in order to receive their next clue.

Drew: Let's run!

*They make a mad dash for the entrance lobby, pick up their bags, and head back to their waiting taxi cab. Derek shws the clue to the driver, and in less than two minutes, their taxi is eating dust, headed for Valencia.*

*Forty-five minutes later*

Taxi Driver: Estamos aquí en Valencia. żDónde usted desea ir? *Translation: We're here in Valencia. Where do you want to go?*

Drew: ĄLa casa del alcalde local, por favor, y en el doble! ĄEstamos en una raza! *Translation: The local Mayor's house, please, and on the double! We're in a race!*

*the taxi roars through the city, almost breaking a copule of speed rules on the way. In a flash, they arrive at the Mayor's house.

Drew: żCuánto para el precio? *Translation: How much for the fare?*

Taxi Driver: Tomaré ningún menos que ciento. *Translation: I'll take no less than a hundred.*

Drew: ĄQué?! *What?!*

Derek: Why? What's the matter?

Drew: He says he'll take no less than a hundred.

Derek: But we only have two hundred! We have to work something out!

Drew: żNo puede ser ochenta? *Translation: Can't it be eighty?*

Taxi Driver *frustrated sigh*: Si.

*he hands over the cash, and the taxi leaves a few minutes later, making Derek eat most of the dust.*

Derek: Road hog...

Drew: Let's look inside.

*they rush into the Mayor's house wherein he himself is waiting for the teams to arrive. He hands them their clue, along with a drink.

Mayor: ĄRecepción a Valencia! Usted es el tercer equipo a conseguir aquí hasta ahora. *Translation: Welcome to Valencia! You're the third team to get here so far.*

Drew *slightly crestfallen*: żQuiénes han venido? *Translation: Who else have come?*

Mayor: Dos otros equipos. *Translation: Two other teams.*

*Drew takes the clue, a bit annoyed, and reads it out, while Derek takes a drink.*

Drew: You must now travel back to Caracas by bus, and find the local Venezuelan Bar, Bebidas Rizadas, in order to find your next clue.

*for some strange reason Drew's face darkens, which makes Derek stare at him in wonder.

Derek: What is it?

Drew: Oh, nothing... *Hoo, boy, are we in deep trouble now. I can't tell Derek the name of the bar! He'll kill me!* Let's get going, shall we?

Derek: Let's!

*they thank the Mayor for the clue, and run out for the local bus station, which is only seven blocks away. Little did they know that Adam/Rebecca were right behind them, having just entered the Mayor's house.*

*as they arrive at the bus station, chaos reigns... again.*

Drew *joining the ticket line*: Wait here, alright? I'll get us some tickets.

*Derek looks around the bus station, and to his shock, sees Adam and Rebecca racing to the same ticket line Drew has just moved up a space in.*

Derek *shouting*: Hurry up, Drew!

*at that moment, he comes back to him, with two tickets in hand.*

Derek: Did you see Adam? He's in the line a few people behind you.

Drew *looks*: Uh-oh. Time to get moving!

*they board the bus and it runs its usual course. three hours later, they arrive, and are lucky to learn that the bar they're looking for is a short run away.*

Drew *rips open clue box*: Great, it's the Roadblock.

*Phil cuts into commentary*: The Rodblock is a task that only one person may perform. In this specific Roadblock, "Who's Sad?", one teammate must get to the bar and buy a drink for anyone they find. What they don't know is that they also have to buy a drink in order to cheer up whomever they meet.*

Derek: Who'll do it?

Drew: I will.

*at that moment, he opens the door, and walks in. What he sees shocks him. There's a lot of private booths scattered around the dance floor, which in itself is draped in filmy curtains. He brushes some aside, and gets to the bar. Since there's a lot of people at the bar, he decides to talk to the barman, who knows a few words of English.*

Drew: Anyone get here yet?

Bartender: Si. Two teams. You're the third, right? Buy a drink for anyone, and yourself. I give your clue after.

Drew: Sure.

*he looks around, and sees a quite down-hearted person, and decides to spare her some time.*

Drew: I'd but for him. Two Perriers, give the other one to him, will you?

Bartender: Si, with your compliments.

*the bartender gives the girl the other Perrier, and tells her that it's compliments of him. The girl looks at him, and he grins back. He toasts to her, and they drink up. After five minutes, and Drew's bottle is empty, the bartender gives him his next clue.*

Drew: Hey, thanks!

Bartender: No problemo.

*he leaves the bar, and Derek rips open the clue. He reads it out, while Drew picks up their bags.*

Derek: Now go to the next Pit stop, the Hyatt Regency Hotel Caracas- the Outer Lodge Gardens, located in the Tourist District in central Caracas.

Drew: Finally! The Pit Stop!

Derek: Let's go!

*they hail a taxi, and the driver knows English, a good sign. He immediately takes them to the Hyatt, and pay him thirty US dolars, then send him off. They run for the Outer Lodge Gardens, where Phil is waiting. They skid to the mat, and Phil says...*

Caracan girl: *halting English* Welcome to Caracas, Venezuela.

Phil: Derek and Drew, you're team number Three.

Derek: Yes! Off to a good start!

Drew: It's much better than last time, right?! *gives Derek a high-five*

Guys, I am sorry but I am quitting this competition I have recently get my report card and some of my grades are not really that good. I need to prioritize things so I will erase this game to my lists too. Sorry T4L. But I will read em though. I support you on this one. Do not worry.
