T4L, i think if you post a task and award points based on how well each participant performed each leg, it will work..

I am standing here at the base of the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island in New York City. It is from here that eleven teams of two will embark on a race around the world.

Nancy and Emily, Mother and Daughter
Joseph and Monica, Dating
Uchenna and Joyce, Married
Eric and Jeremy, Best Friends
John Vito and Jill, Dating
Wanda and Desiree, Mother and Daughter
BJ and Tyler, Best Friends
Chris and Alex, Best Friends
Kris and Jon, Long Distance Dating
Dennis and Erika, Dating
Reichen and Chip, Married

In just a few moments, when i give you the word, you will run over to your bags over there, where you will recieve your first clue.

On your mark.......Get set....................................GO!!!!!!!

Route Info: Fly to London, Great Britain. Once there, find one of the most famous palaces in the world. (PM me your answer) Only 3 teams get to fly out of Newark, 3 teams get to fly out of LaGuardia, and 4 teams get to fly out of JFK. (PM me your choice)

i said 4 get to fly out of JFK, i meant 5.

the first flight in was the Newark flight, landing in London at 8:06 PM. the second flight in was the LaGuardia flight, at 8:27 PM. the JFK flight was supposed to be first, at 7:56 PM, but because of a delay, it landed last at 8:56 PM.

Of the 6 teams that have arrived in London, all have arrived at historical Buckingham Palace.

Once there, teams found out that they had to wait out the night. The gates don't open until 6 AM the next morning.

THE NEXT DAY...

DETOUR:

TIRED or SCARED

In TIRED, teams must go to Wimbledon Tennis Courts and try to win a game of doubles against 2 professsional 12 year olds. (go to http://www.miniclip.com/games/tennis-ace/en/. PM me your score. NOTE: You must do Easy on Grass Court. I would also like a screencap.)

This may be a tiresome task, but teams with stamina will finish quickly.

In SCARED, teams must go to Madame Tussaud's wax works museum and walk through the scary Chamber of Horrors. (PM me the location of Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London.)

There is nothing tiresome about this task, but teams that easily scare will find this difficult.

Deadline is Thursday, August 10, 2006 3 PM EST.

The 5 teams that have not yet participated, they may still catch up and do the detour, but there will be a +8 time penalty for not doing the Route Info.

Teams arrived at Buckingham Palace in London, United Kingdom to find a detour: Scared or Tired.

Teams that chose Tired recieved +3 to their score, while teams that chose Scared recieved +6 to their score.

Previously on TAR: Make a Route!...

Eleven teams of two embarked on a race around the world. Starting from a very symbolic American monument, the Statue of Liberty, teams raced to London, United Kingdom, to a symbolic British monument, Buckingham Palace. Once there, teams encountered their first detour: Scared or Tired. Of the eight teams in London, they all chose Scared. Who will be the first eliminated?

ROUTE INFO

Go to the Pitstop: Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park.

The scoring goes as follows:

NEWARK: +4
LAGUARDIA: +6
JFK: +8

NOT SELECTING FLIGHT: +8, added to selected flight, or not selecting flight at all, +18

TIRED: +3
SCARED: +6

NOT SELECTING DETOUR: +12
In first place, with 10 points is..........

TAR 4 life, do you mind if i do the leaderboard for you?

However, next round if there's a tie for the same score.. i think it's better to determine the placing by who sent in the task first.
