Leg 5

This is Castellon de la Plana, the capital city of Castellon and one of the oldest cities in Spain. Located on the Golfo de Valencia, Castellon de la Plana was founded in 1251. Situated in the center of the town is the El Fadri, a bell tower built at the turn of the seventeenth century. This castle was the fourth pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams left in the following order:
1. Gus and Hera (5:34 AM)
2. Chip and Kim (5:36 AM)
3. Mary and Peach (5:37 AM)
4. Joseph and Monica (5:43 AM)
5. Uchenna and Joyce (6:20 AM)
6. Hayden and Aaron (6:29 AM)
7. Nancy and Emily (6:39 AM)
8. Kami and Karli (6:43 AM)
9. Reichen and Chip (6:45 AM)
10. Wanda and Desiree (7:11 AM)
11. Lena and Kristy (7:18 AM)

Detour: Up or Down

Up: In Up, teams will drive 130 miles to Barcelona. Once there teams must find the Torre Agbar and make their way to the top of the building. Then each member will bungee jump from the building for your next clue.

Down: In Down, teams will drive a shorter distance, only 30 miles to the town of Vall d'Uixó. Once in town, teams will need to find the marked caves. Using a map, teams will need to navigate along the underground river of the caves for their next clue.

VOTE FOR THE ORDER OF HOW THE TEAMS FINISH THE DETOUR. NOTIFY WHICH DETOUR OPTION THEY CHOOSE.

Clue: Get yourselves to the city of Montpellier, France. Teams who completed the Up detour must drive themselves 215 miles from Barcelona to Montpellier while the teams who completed the Down detour may fly from Valencia. Once there, drive to the Chapelle de Nôtre-Dame-de-Lourdes for your next clue.

Air France 5890 (8:45 AM through Madrid and Lyon)

Most teams who drove to Montpellier arrived between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. However, the Air France flight landed at 4:30 PM putting those teams at a distinct disadvantage.

Clue: Drive to the Jardins de la Fontaine in Nimes, France

Teams now have to drive 30 miles to the city of Nimes for their next clue.

In this roadblock, the team member will have to separate a crate of extremely similar flowers by using their senses: sight, smell, etc. Once they have successfully separated the crate, they will receive their next clue.

RANK THE TEAM MEMBERS IN THE ORDER OF HOW THEY FINISH THE ROADBLOCK.
