Most nickel alloys are welded by manual soldering (SMAW), gas shielded tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas shielded arc welding (GMAW). Nickel alloy weldments have excellent ductility, and their lower thermal expansion characteristics reduce residual stress and bending deformation. Only precipitated hardened grades require heat treatment after welding. The technical conditions for nickel alloy electrodes and filler metals released by the American Welding Institute (AWS) are shown in Table 4.Tubo de acero inoxidable de 2 pulgadas tubo de acero redondo
The welding technology of nickel alloy is very similar to that of austenitic stainless steel. However, because the weld pool of nickel rich weld pool is more viscous and the penetration is even worse, it is necessary to improve the shape and welding technology of the joint to obtain fully penetrated weld. Nickel alloy does not allow pollutants to exist more than iron and steel materials.ASTM estándar SAE1006 alambre de acero al carbono
The high ductility, low thermal expansion and the ability to dilute various metal elements of nickel rich welding materials make it widely used in welding of dissimilar metals. It includes not only the welding of Ni based alloy and iron base alloy, but also the welding of stainless steel and carbon steel and alloy steel. Similarly, nickel alloy can be welded to the surface of carbon steel without any risk of cracking.
