Interview with Melody and Sharon

Project: Amazing Race Asia

Who was the one that suggested to join Amazing Race? How did you find out about this contest? How was the other partner's reaction?
Melody: I found out about the race from watching AXN and decided to ask Sharon to be my partner in the race. Sharon was a little hesitant at first but slowly but surely, she began to take the initiative to want to get out of her comfort zone and try something different. So the rest was history!

What is your weakness? strength?
Melody: I discover new weaknesses and strengths about myself each and everyday. So far perseverance is one major strengths of ours. I felt that my keen sense of adventure helped in undertaking most of the challenges. However, I would have made some unwise decisions if Sharon did not bring in her organised mind. I also have a weakness for heights which I have been wanting to overcome.

Sharon: I'm afraid of heights too. *Gulp!* Agree that one of our key strengths is perserverance. We'll do what it takes to get something done.

If you could bring one personal thing what would it be? and why?
Melody: I would like to say handphone to keep in touch with loved ones and to let them know I'm safe. But honestly, if I had to choose one item that was not allowed in the race, it would be my camera. How can I not capture digitally all those special moments, faces and places?

Sharon: My crucifix. There's nothing like being close to God, and knowing that He has your back covered.

What do you do at a pit stop?
Melody: Pant, catch your breath and stare into Allan's eyes. Desperately trying to read his blunt expression for signs of good news or bad. Haha. OH, hang on.... I don't know if we're allowed to tell you what we do at each pit stop. But basically, it's food and rest.

Have you two travel together before?
Melody: Once, just before the race to Bali. Wonderful relaxing girlie holiday! What the cat's are away, the mice play!

Sharon: We had a great trip to Bali!

What is your secret to staying refreshed and healthy?
Melody: A heart full of God's love to share, a positive spirit fueled by sufficient sleep and rest, gallons of nature's water to rejuvenate the body and lots of adrenalin pumping exercise to boost one's zest and energy for life! Haha...

Sharon: I'm for eating and resting well, exercising regularly and taking suitable supplements to support the immune system, for the physical 'glow'. My secret to spiritual glow comes from walking closely with God. That is learning and living His word.

In an interview with Sharon & Melody in the Strait Times of Singapore, the duo revealed that Sharon's bike stalled which caused them to fall into last place during Leg 6's Quad Bikes task and eliminated them from the race.

I was wondering how they reached the Roadblock last. This sucks! Sad

All-female team curse strikes and Team Singapore is the victim!

Hopefully Joebrina brings some hope for me by entering the final 3! Cry

I just watched TAR: Asia re-runs once again. It makes me sad knowing Melody and Sharon are gone after seeing episode 3 again. Sharon just kept on trying...
