Testing the escape key

YIKES!  I just lost another message that i had typed - about a paragraph's worth.  I accidentally hit the left mouse key and a drop down menu comes up.  Usually I just hit the ESC key to get rid of this.  Sometimes I hit it twice figuring that the second hit won't cause any trouble.
 
However beware because here when you hit the ESC the second time it erases your entire message and subject line too.  Just tried it and yep  -  that's what happens.
