Oh NO!!

Our site has just been visited by www.Worstoftheweb.com ( http://www.worstoftheweb.com/classic/021703.html ). Although their comments aren't really that destructive, we would like to have a broader opinion about our site. It concerns the site www.sloffers.nl .
This site is about a club of creative people who are building a parade wagen for the carnival festivities round February in Breda, Holland each year.

Now you should know that we've just put it online. We kept the design quite simple, buildt it in a day, keeping in mind that our 'core-business' is still building that car which eats a lot of time.

Please take a look at our website, sign the guestbook or whatever you will, and assure us that it isn't as bad as they say it is. :wink3:

! Self made offcourse. It contains pictures of last years car. All made with photoshop7. It isn't so difficult to make.

Ahh your site blows and the background sucks ass... I don't see how you call yourself creative because it doesn't show in your web site.

In conclusion I'd say you should update your site if you want actual visitors.

Oh quit crying you wusses, people can't take criticizm anymore without being offended... I'm just saying in a polite way that their site sucks

It's only to let them know that their site needs major work and in order for people to visit your site and stay it needs to be appealing... and that site is NOT appealing.

I know. You're right about those buttons. They are just too simple. But remember, we build it in one afternoon. When the carnival days are over, we'll have time to work on the whole thing. We're thinking about dreamweaver, then we'll be working with more flash buttons and its better to update.
About the updating: that is really a time thing. Every evening we're occupied by building that car.

More sugggestions are allways welcome.

Buzz, there is a significant difference between constructive criticism and trash-talk. "The background is so busy and multi-colored that it makes it difficult to read the forground text, and the yellow link background is both extremely garish, and it clashes with the image background, so the overall presentation is unattractive." is constructive criticism, "the background sucks ass" is trash-talk. If you can't express your opinion without cursing, perhaps you should consider spending more time reading, and less time typing.
