you'll love Phantom Yesteach. I actually had to go out and buy it.  It was just so wonderful.  Even though i had seen the show on Broadway, it still had me on the edge of my seat, really into the characters

I enjoyed it... but not fond of the guy who played the Phantom (Gerard Butler).  Patrick Wilson (Raoul) and Emmy Rossum (Christine) sounded so much more .... something.. operatic I suppose... he just sounded like an amateur next to the two of them... his singing actually bugged me.. almost like he was off key... Sad

This is one I'll pass on, didn't care for the Broadway Play or the music as a whole and won't enjoy the movie I'm sure.
Not for me, but then neither was "Evita"! Undecided

It was actually pretty good, the sets and costuming were wonderful - and I got a little misty at the end... but I just couldn't get past Gerard Butler's singing...

War of the Worlds, I don't care what a lot of people say, but this is sure to be a classic!

I agree, it was good.. reminded me of Independence Day a bit in the intensity... and Dakota Fanning is just amazing!!  In a few more years, that kid will be box office gold!  We decided today - another Drew Barrymore/Jodie Foster in the making!

Someone has to like it and someone usually doesn't!
Ya''ll know how I love movies, but this one didnt do it for me!

Yes, Dakato is an excellent little actress!

I do believe one thing I couldn't get past is how disgusted I am with Tom Cruise.  Maybe another actor would ahve made the difference with me likeing it.  Then, maybe not!

1. War of the Worlds - AWESOME. I catch myself open-mouthed on some of the scenes. It's one of Spielberg's best films, IMO. Brilliant!

2. Ghost Ship - I liked it. There was gore, but there was also sadness underneath the whole movie. The end would have been good, except for the final twist, which I didn't like at all. LOL. But remove that part and it's all good.

3. Cheaper by the Dozen - I like this movie. It's funny and warm, and there's some drama. It reminds me of the simple fun of just being with your family. I can totally relate to the chaos that kids make, because when we were kids I knew we made our parents crazy, but they still love us in the end.

She's nine!!  She was really amazing in the singing bit where Tom and Tim have their "final battle" so to speak... to have that sort of intensity in her acting at the age of nine.. what the heck kind of "experience" can she have to draw on for that??  Pure talent!!

Dakota is eleven, she said so on Leno two weeks ago.
She should have been the one promoting the movie all this time.
She has been a real profession in any movie we've seen.

Think about how much more couch jumping time Tom
would have had if Dakota had done all the promos! Roll Eyes

Oh, I had to say that! Grin
