OK.  During Academic Support the funniest thing happened.  OK so, we had Latin homework to find a dollar bill and find three Latin phrases on it.  So three guys in my class, decided to go to the Woodworking teacher and asked for a dollar.  So in return, the teacher would get his shoe.   :laff: So during Academic Support, they were in the classroom with one shoe. :laff:  They got their shoes back.  But during the whole event, we were joking that the teacher would sell the shoes on eBay.  :laff: That was the only funny thing during school.

At my international school, there is a German girl who is dating a Costa Rican guy. They both speak English, but the German is learning Spanish, so I guess that she thought that it would be good for her boyfriend to learn German. And it was hilarious.

She had a book, which looked very educational, except the problem was the pronunciation. The sounds are completely unnatural for English speakers. I tried too and it sounded equally horrible. She demanded her boyfriend memorize the first five pages. I could barely pronounce "Ich bein ein Mann." if that is what the phrase was.

Here's a German Little Mermaid video I found on youtube so you can hear what it sounds like. It's pretty, yes, but it's incredibly hard to pronounce correctly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJM-RTaLlvQ

Either way, Spanish is much easier to learn and I am starting to pick up the accent of one of my good friends whenever I speak. It's fun. He's from Panama. I practice my Spanish with him. He has a Spanish accent when he talks English and I always notice people's accents. Some accents I love and some bother me, but his I really love, it just takes a while to understand at times. I guess it must be equally interesting for him to listen to me talk Spanish in an English accent. But I wouldn't know since I'm not a native Spanish speaker.

From reading fiction books with some German in it, I noticed that some German words are almost like their English counterpart. And I think 2-word terms in English when translated to German is just one long word.

Ooohh, the song Silent Night in German.
