Hey all! The countdown is on for Survivor:Thailand! I have just returned home from an extended stay in Los Angeles and after many meetings with agents, managers, publicists, producers etc. I have decided that I like my life just the way it is. OK, well maybe not exactly as it was! I have made some big decisions about my future and in order for me to pursue my dreams I need to unload a big ole SUV. If anyone is interested in a beautiful Saturn, please visit EBay to get more information. The winning bidder will be able to pick out the color and all of the amenities. My early final four is Ken, Penny, Jan and Helen. My first boot nominees are Shii Ann and Clay. I have been hounded by recruiters/headhunters and they can be VERY aggressive, almost as bad as telemarketers. Clay looks like an easy target. He may surprise me, but if this edition was as tough as I heard it was, my money is on Clay for an early boot.  
 
Then again, I lost so what the hec do I know?

John received 25000USD for his Saturn Vue.  that should help with tuition.  Interestingly the first time he listed at ebay he got a bid of 25,800 but it did not meet the reserve price.  This means that John then had to relist the item.  This time it was purchased for 25,000 by a buyer named Survivoriscool.

If you go to that link you will see that Survivor-john has a negative one rating with ebay and if you click on that feedback you will see that an ebay seller has complained that John bought something on ebay and then never paid for it (May 2002).  It's a sale that is older than 90 days so I can't seem to find out what the item was.  
 
Of course there is always the other side to the story and I have not heard that side yet and there may be a good reason why payment was not sent.

John Carroll Sells Saturn Vue—With Unexpected Outcome
 
It took him three tries, but he finally did it. John Carroll has sold the Saturn Vue given to him by Rosie O’Donnell, and has designated that part of the proceeds go to local HIV/AIDS awareness organizations.
BY MISSING SYNAPSE
Tuesday, September 10, 2002
 
After spending his summer donating time to various AIDS awareness charities across America, Carroll entered law school at Creighton University two weeks ago. Soon he realized he would need to put the famous Saturn vehicle on the market.
 
“Law school is expensive, and I needed to eat!” he laughed.
 
Carroll had listed his Saturn twice on eBay, only to have the bids fall short of the reserve by a small amount each time. A radio station in Alaska kept a running tally of the bids and even called bidders while on the air to get their comments.
 
“We got more than 7,000 views and many bids, but missed the reserve by less than $2,000,” said Carroll.
 
Soon after the auction ended, though, Carroll got an email from an interested buyer in Spokane, Washington who had seen the eBay auction and wanted to know if the Vue was still available. While discussing the transaction, Carroll learned that the buyer is also active in HIV/AIDS awareness causes.
 
“We started talking about the autographed photo I’d included with the auction,” Carroll said. “The buyer mentioned that he is involved with a Spokane AIDS benefit around Halloween and asked if I could provide any auction items. I told him I would go one better and make a personal appearance to help him with his cause.”
 
Carroll, who hopes to use his eventual law degree to begin a political career, is amazed by the synchronicity of the sale. “It was amazing to me that out of all the thousands of people who were looking at this car, the person who is buying it is also strongly involved in raising awareness about HIV and AIDS. It definitely feels like some karma is involved here.”
