The Nike Air Zoom DiscountGeneration will release tonight in the “First Game” colorway through an exclusive auction through StockX.While there certainly is demand for the LeBron Zoom Generation, it remains to be seen how the following models, which were never all that popular, will be received. Many sat on shelves and it wasn’t until Jason Petrie took the helm with the Air Max LeBron VII that the shoe was strongly considered by the sneaker community. His controversial switch to Miami gave the shoe even more edge, catapulting the signature line to new heights in terms of profitability.
For years, sneakerheads have been wondering if Nike would ever go down the Retro route with LeBron James’ signature shoes. Given how Nike Basketball gave Kobe the treatment twice with the celebrated “Prelude” Pack and “Fade To Black” Collection, it seemed like only a matter of time before LeBron’s first era of Nike sig shoes would make their way back to stores shelves. The wait seems to be a lot shorter than we think because a first look at the Nike Air Zoom CheapGeneration Retro just surfaced.
Nike Running continues to surprise us with a number of OG-inspired running models with modern amenities ranging from added zippers (the Nike Presto Mid) new midfoot straps (the Nike Sock Dart SE) and the likes of Zoom Air, Engineered Mesh, and more with the latest Nike Air Zoom Structure 20. While this head-turning Nike Zoom Structure 20 utilizes a colorway originally found on the debut Nike Air Zoom UK Sale Structure from 1991.
Fans of Nike’s late-90s retro running slate will remember the Nike Air Zoom Sale/a> Spiridon from 1997 and have reason to get excited, as the running model is getting its second retro treatment ever this summer. The full-length Zoom cushioning on the midsole, mesh overlay, and oversized Swoosh branding made this pair a must-have and it’s a bit odd that we haven’t seen a retro release sooner. The classic Black/Sport Red colorway is first up on the retro slate. No word yet on a stateside release date, but European retailers will be getting this 1997 classic on July 16th.
LeBron James’ sneaker selections have been relatively predictable throughout the Playoffs, with a consistent rotation of LeBron 13s and LeBron 13 Elites providing him with the energy to head to a sixth straight NBA Finals. Today, the Cavs participated in a light practice, and LeBron whipped out one of the rarest promo pairs in Nike LeBron history – the Nike Air Zoom Best Price/a> Generation “Rookie Of The Year” PE that was never released to the public.
