Adidas Originals has a sneaker release prepared to drop on NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto, but it’s not a basketball silhouette. Instead, the brand will debut a reimagined pack of an acclaimed running shoe.
The pack uses the brand’s Xeno light-responsive technology, which displays bright, vibrant colors Nike Air Max Command Donna Bianche when the flash of a camera hits the silhouette. What makes this Xeno release different from others is that the Xeno Borealis ZX Flux glows in the dark in a bright green colorway because of its glow-in-the-dark Asics Gel Quantum 360 Dames technology. The pack, according to the brand, is its first glow-in-the-dark Xeno offering available in three different colorways.
Part of the Adidas Originals line called "mi ZX FLUX" has a choose-your-own-design feature, along with several pre-made Boba Fett Nike Air Huarache Womens designs.
Ordering these shoes is a little tricky. You need to download a particular Adidas app, mi ZX Flux Photo Print, available on iOS and Android. Note that reviews for the iOS app are quite negative, noting how the checkout process is buggy.
When you open the app, the default feature is to take a photo of whatever you want in front of you for your shoes. There's a Nike Roshe Run Donna menu choice to pull up pre-made designs, either in a "Star Wars" folder or an "Adidas" folder. If you scroll through the Star Wars artwork, you'll find all of the following Boba Fett artwork available to have on your shoes.
Early on in the development of the ZX FLUX, the designers of the project realised how adaptable the silhouette was and decided to go all out. Bouncing ideas around like a B-Ball, the Nike Air Max 1 Dames collection began to swell and expand exponentially, resulting in an impressive first fleet with over 20 renditions releasing Nike Air Max 2017 Womens globally in the next few months alone. In and amongst the roll-out, you can expect to find the ‘Black Elements’ pack, which features a trio of inky iterations including an all-over lightning print, the ‘City Pack’ comprising editions adorned with incredibly detailed satellite imagery, Adidas NMD Damen as well as the ‘Weave’, ‘Photo Nike Air Max Thea Damen Print’ and monotone ‘Base’ packs, plus Foot Locker SMUs and super limited edition family and friends drops.
