For Air Max Day 2016, Nike asked sneakerheads to vote for their favorite Air Max of all time, which would then be re-released in 2017. Nominees in the “Vote Back” poll included the likes of the Air Max 90 “Duck Camo,” the Air Max 90 “War Hawk,” and the beloved atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant,” which eventually won the vote.
It may sound surprising, but the iconic colorway was inspired by the image of an elephant having a bath, with Tinker Hatfield’s signature cracked concrete print from the Air Jordan III (itself schedule to make a comeback alongside) constituting the Nike Air Max Classic BW Mujer obvious elephant reference, while teal hits on the Swoosh, tongue and heel obviously refer to water.

Originally released in 1987, the Air Max 1 introduced the world to visible Nike Air cushioning with a classic Tinker Hatfield design in three iconic colorways: “Classic white,” “Red/Grey/White,” and “Blue/Grey.” All three look set for another run out.

Yes, the Nike x atmos Air Max “Elephant” is finally set for a rerelease. First released as a part Nike Air Max Classic BW Womensof the “Zoo Pack” in 2006, the collaboration spliced a staple Nike motif with meticulous color blocking to highlight the subtle jade Swoosh.
