The Air Max 97 “Metallic Gold”, more commonly known as the Gold Bullets, are releasing Asics Gel Lyte 5 Dames once again, but with a little twist. Nike is giving the Italy some love with the Air Max 97 Italy coming soon.
The shoe is essentially a Gold Bullet Air Max 97, with that Metallic Gold upper, with a white midsole sitting on top of a black outsole. Th only real difference that comes on this pair is Nike Air Max 90 Essential Femmethat the Italian Flag is featured on the pull tabs. One pull tab is on the back of the shoe, the other is on the tongue.
To me this was a creative way to show off the Italian Flag. A simple detail in the back and tongue can go a long way to small-detail fanatics like myself and the whole DailySole Team. I kinda wish they would have changed ONE other thing to differentiate from the Gold Bullet 97’s but we not tripping’ over here fam.

Not because they’re not good, but because they’re so good that they should remain a coveted, sought-after, special sneaker. The Air Max ’95 – my second favorite of the bunch – was rereleased last year, and the meaning of the sneaker has definitely evolved. But, as with the ’95s, an evolved rerelease of the ’97s wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing – just different.
With the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Air Max 97 in full swing, after the silver version, it’s now the turn of a flash of gold. Ready to steal the spotlight, this latest reiteration in matte gold is bound to turn heads across generations, from nostalgic to teens.
