LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - A million dollars ain't what it used to be.

That may go some way to explaining why, a week after she won the $1 million prize on "Survivor: Marquesas," Vecepia Towery was back at work as an office manager for a high-tech startup company in Northern California.

"Quitting my job is not realistic," Towery, who won the prize over 21-year-old Utah resident Neleh Dennis, tells the Contra Costa Times. "One million dollars is great, but it can't sustain you forever. I'm still part of the working class."

Towery has received some grief from her fellow castaways for getting back on the job so soon. Robert "the General" DeCanio told her to "get up ... and bang your head against a wall," she relates. But she says work helps her stay calm in the face of her newfound notoriety.

"I still want to wake up and enjoy going to work and just having something to do," she says.

She doesn't plan to spend all the money, either. After taxes, Towery and her husband, Leander Robinson, plan to do some redecorating with the money, but the rest will go into investments and possibly a foundation for underprivileged kids.
