Adidas has presented a new shoe with biodegradable material that has been designed to decompose a few hours after its extraction with the help of a solution of water and Nike Air Max 90 Mujer enzyme.

The sneaker, which is advertised as the first biodegradable sneaker of its kind, is currently only a prototype, but the company expects it to be a commercial product next year, Wired reported.
According to Gizmodo, users simply place their shoes in the water and add a digestion enzyme called proteinase, which causes the protein strand to disintegrate within 36 hours.
"This process is 100% natural," an Adidas spokesperson told the Nike Cortez Femme news site. "The shoe would not dissolve Nike Air Max 90 Femme Blanche if it is used in conditions of rainy weather, for example because the presence of proteinase is important for the process."
As for what happens to the sole, a spokesman for Adidas told HuffPost that it could be considered another more durable material if the shoe went into production.
"Futurecraft Biofabric is a prototype that should show where the industry can go," Vinti Bhatnagar said in an email on Tuesday. "The reuse of footwear can be a process of great energy consumption and if we have a top that does not have to be recycled, that helps."
Bhatnagar also noted that last December, Adidas produced a 3D printed midsole concept made of recycled marine plastic.
In addition to this current sole, Adidas emphasizes that this new Biosteel fabric is not only beneficial Nike Air Max Command Donna for the environment, but also Nike Air Max 2017 Womens for athletes.
