Yes, I heard about this. I saw some of them when I am going to school (then), but I haven't seen one lately. I have a friend here who is a Mormon, and we get along just fine. Wink

So avs, are you going to visit the Philippines one day?

I am born Catholic, but I knew I was a bit of a rebel. When I was small I don't like to go to church. Now I miss going to church. But I pray alot to God everyday, and always try to do good.

I was born into the Baptist church and was baptised by total immersion as a young girl. After I was married there was no Baptist church near our home and some good friends of ours asked us to join them at church so we transferred our membership to the Methodist Church. I have respect for all religions and practice mine in my own way that doesn't always mean I attend the church services.

I am a Christian. I have always attended Baptist churches but I do not like to call myself "religious" because that term would seem to indicate more of what humans try to do to reach God. For me, belief in Christ and following his teachings in the Bible are the major components of my faith.

I'm not a good person and could never be good enough to work my way into God's good graces. For me, it's all about faith and a personal relationship with Jesus.

That questionaire asked my beliefs, not what I do Grin

All of my Dad's family were Catholic, my Grandad left the church when my Dad was a boy. He did not want my Dad anywhere near a Catholic Church. My Mom and I have determined over the years why he did not want my Dad to go near the Catholic Church. (My Dad had five older sisters.)

My Mom started taking me to the First Baptist Church when I was five and I joined at age eight, still a member there. My Dad later followed us in joining the FBC.

As Jaypee said, "I'm a bit of a rebel" and tend to do things my own way. I do not adhere to all their strictness, that is the ones that can't be seen in the light of day! Hypocrites there, yes! We don't go for that reason, or non-reason, we go for ourselves. We feel better after attending church on Sunday. Each person will have to stand for themselves on judgment day.

P.S. We'd both make better Methodists Grin

I don't pray the rosary regularly but I pray before I sleep.. I keep to it that I pray to God before I sleep to thank Him for all His gifts.. I miss attending masses at times...sometimes intentional.. maybe what I can say to people who are confused on what religion to take is that... religion is not based on the people who attends the congregation, sect or group but it relies on your faith or what you believe in... I am a bad Catholic and there are a lot out there but I strive to be a good one... Grin

hmm... my test result says that I should be an Orthodox Quaker, then Jainism, then 7th Day Adventist, then Liberal Quaker, then Eastern Orthodox, then Hindu, and the Roman Catholic...

hmmm.... what is a Quaker?

At times I also miss participating in the ceremonies connected with the Catholic Church and I will go to Mass. I usuall attend Mass when I visit family, but I still have a problem with a lot of the teachings.

As I sit in church, I feel like somehthing just doesn't add up to me. I can't ever put my finger on it... Something ain't right.... I don't know....

I see alot of legalistic Christians who worship the Bible more than the God who "inspired it"...

History tells us that the middle age church (1200-1600 AD), taught from a book (the Bible) that the common man weren't allowed to read, even if they could they weren't educated enough to actually read it...

As a result, the church instilled alot of fear and pronounced alot of things that weren't even in the book (the Bible)...

King James Version is produced soon after, but that another story... KJV is about to face the same problem that the people in 1500-1600 were facing, few can read it or understand it....

Today, I think the modern church still hasn't recovered from this time period... We have engrained into our minds that we accept everything that comes from the pulpit. We don't think for ourselves.. I would dare say that Christ's teachings and our understanding of them has been diluted similar to the ways the Jewish teachings (ala Moses and Abraham teachings) were when Jesus came walking to the Jordan River...

It's ironic, I always considered myself to be a bit of an agnostic, but my parents raised me in the Unitarian church. Reform Judaism is basically Judaism with modern principals. Orthodox Judaism is Judaism following the ancient principals from the BC years.

Hehe, my in-laws are Lutheran and they always crack jokes about Lutherans and potluck meals, had to toss that in.
