RACE NEWS
06/07 - There will be a couple of rules changes to the race this year.
During non-elimination weeks, the team that finishes last will be forced to give up all their money and they will not be given any cash at the start of the next leg.
A twist called the "Yield" is being introduced. Each team will be allowed to force one other team to "yield" during the race. Forcing that team to slow down.
It's beginning to sound like a really good race.

and actually the new rules were released April 2nd over 2 months ago.

Well sonic i dont really agree with either rule

YIELD suffs up the fast forward advantage, not very nice
the non-elimation rule is just stupid, what if they NEED money for a TAXI, BUS or TRAIN, that will make it much harder, i say if they need that rule give them only 50% of the next legs' money and take only half of their current money.

lol...Do you remember blake and paige in Season 2 Ep 2? When they lost they're wallet but still made it through by begging and stuff? I think its possible...just would be a pain in the neck though but its better than being eliminated.

I, other than most of ya'll like the new yield rule. I think it will indeed create more competiveness amongst the teams. Also it will divide teams. It will like "I want them to lose so slow down!" I think it brings in more strategy. "Should we slow down a slow team so that we eliminate them?" or "Should we slow down a strong team to make sure we stay a step ahead of them?" In other words you can make sure weak teams have problems advancing or slow down teams that has been in place #1 for 3 legs. lol

I think it's a very good idea for this new rule but I think they should of kept the fast foward. Just make sure that they have one use for both tools. Anyway, I'm curious/excited to see how this new 'yield' rule plays out!

I believe that they will cut it. That's based on rumors (as sonic said himself) and my own speculation.

The way I see it, is if they have this new 'yield' rule why would they have an additional box (that box being the Fast Foward) sitting next to the Yield Box. That means that one team would be able to take up both of the offers at the same time if they choose to do so. I don't think the producers would want that because it's basically a gurantee who gets kicked off to last place. And that can get boring during every leg you watch.

The scenario goes like this:
Let's say Linda/Karen and the twins are racing to get the yield and fast foward. Those two teams are in last place. The twins get there first and uses their fast foward. They are basically forced to use the other option too because Linda/Karen may slow them down with the yield. So the twins use their yield to make sure Linda/Karen can't use it and that basically guarantees Lind/Karens' exit.

Now it would be totally different if the producers made a rule to say that one team cannot use both the fast Foward and yield at the same time during a leg OR place the FF and Y at different locations. EDIT: Also, I feel dumb for not saying this before but they also may have to do a little mission to complete both the FF and Y so that means that the person using the FF won't really benefit from it most because they'll have to use their Y first.

The way I hope it turns out is that they put it in different locations. That way, a team will lose crucial time trying to get both at the same time. I like the new yield rule but not as much as the Fast Foward. lol Mainly because the yield rule has negatives of its own. I won't explain them right now (I think ya'll could easily come up with some of if you think about it) so I'll just end my post here.

Yeah that sounds like an good idea. BUT, lol, that could mean that the Y wouldn't ever be used unless the team using one of the options is in 1st/2nd/3rd. Because if I remember correctly you have to go out of the way to get to the box. If you go of course then that means that you want to gain in speed. If you're looking for that extra speed that will boost you up then you'll have to choose the FF over the Y.

The way I would use the Y is if I'm in 1st and I want another team to go far down the ladder. If that's the case then fine but if I go out of my way to get to the Y, that'll force me to use it on a team that's already in the back of the pack that way my team won't get eliminated easier.

The best way imo is to just put them into seperate locations but make sure the distance apart is the same.

EDIT: Also just to add on, don't you like the way Phil continues to tell you about the rules each eppie. It does become boring after a few eppies but that just means that anyone can get into it without being confused i nthe middle of the race. Unlike Big Brother or Survivor where it's been twists and turns already by eppie 4. haha
