TAR achieved a 6.1/10 rating/share, 9.78 million viewers, and a 4.2 in the 18-49 demo. TAR was first in everything but the 18-49 demo, as Trading Spouses (FOX ripoff) somehow got a 4.5 (ARGHH...they are a RIPOFF and they beat an honest show...makes me mad). This has been the lowest ratings in TAR5 yet, yet it is substantially higher than TAR4, TAR3 and TAR1. TAR2 had a 6.5 rating for this episode beating it.

In one Week TAR5 lost half a member from its cast and lost half of its viewers

Well...I'll go into a little detail.

TAR had 9.8 million viewers on Tuesday, thats self-explanatory.

Now the 6.1 rating. 6.1 stands for 6.1% of the households (total houses, not total TV sets) that have TVs were tuned into TAR. Since Nielsen predicts 108 million households have TVs, this means about 6.6 million households were tuned into TAR.

Now the 10 share. This means that 10% of all households watching TV watched TAR. This helps in comparing how the show did against other shows that time. This week, TAR and Law & Order: SVU both had 10 shares, so they did fairly equal.

The 4.2 Adults 18-49 rating. This is the "advertising friendly" demographic. Its the demographic that gets most advertisers interested in purchasing advertising during the show. For the first and third TAR episode, TAR was #1 of the night in that demographic. However this episode, FOX's new show Trading Spouses got 4.5 rating, beating out TAR.

Hopefully that explained what the ratings mean.
