i know - you will need to be able to communicate with your partner somehow in this race - either through msn, aim, etc or pm's on this board - if he isn't responding to your pm's - thats something you two need to figure out

These teams still need to send in their team information. If more than a couple teams don't send it in by tomorrow, then there will be no team introductions.

Redwings Race around the World Rules and Scoring

First, thank you to all twenty four members and twelve teams which have signed up for this game. Unlike my other games, this one will be based on time not points. Types of tasks and clues will include:

Signups: These might include something like signing up for a flight or at a route marker. You will do all of your sign ups on the thread. I will tell you when you need to sign up for a task. If the signups are not for transportation (where teams will be even) then I will tell you what the amount of time the signup will be.

Team Tasks: These will occur when you have to complete a task such as finding information on line, playing a game, etc. For these types of tasks, you will need to PM me your information. These will occur for detour, roadblocks and other situations.

Each task will have a specific point value. REMEMBER: TIME IS BAD!! THE MORE TIME YOU HAVE, THE WORSE YOU DID FOR THE TASK. THE FINAL ORDER FOR A LEG WILL BE BASED OFF YOUR CURRENT TIME AT THE END OF A LEG.

POINT VALUES:

Detour: The detour will have two different types of tasks one you will have to complete. One detour will be easier to complete (thus giving you more points) and one will be harder to complete (thus being fewer points).

NOTE: EACH DETOUR WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF SET TIME. I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THE SET TIME IS AFTER TEAMS COMPLETE IT. THE AMOUNT OF TIME WILL BE BASED ON HOW LONG I THINK IT WOULD TAKE AN AVERAGE TEAM TO COMPLETE IT. HOWEVER, THE INTERVAL FOR THE TEAMS WHO COMPLETE A SIGNLE TASK WILL BE THE SAME FOR THE ENTIRE RACE.

Detour 1: Harder One (Set time = X) (Time for order of completion = X + 4 minutes)

Point Values:

5. X + 16
6. X + 20
7. X + 24
8. X + 28
9. X + 32
10. X + 36
11. X + 40
12. X + 44

Detour 2: Easier One (Set time = X) (Time for order of completion = X + 6 minutes)

Point Values:

3. X + 12
4. X + 18
5. X + 24
6. X + 30
7. X + 36
8. X + 42
9. X + 48
10. X + 54
11. X + 60
12. X + 66

Roadblock: (Set time = X) (Time for order of completion = X + 5 minutes)

4. X + 15
5. X + 20
6. X + 25
7. X + 30
8. X + 35
9. X + 40
10. X + 45
11. X + 50
12. X + 55

Fast Forward: There will be five fast forwards on the race. If you complete the fast forward, you will receive no extra time except a set time to get to the pit stop which I will let you know. You are not guaranteed a first place finish with the fast forward.

Yield: There are three yields on the entire race. Nothing will happen to the team who uses the yield. The team who is yielded will receive 30 minutes added to their time for the current leg.

Non Elimination: On non elimination legs, teams will be marked for elimination. If they dont finish in the top three on the next leg, a 30 minute penalty will be added to their time at the pit stop.

Pause: In this twist, the paused team will receive 10 minutes to their time plus a set time to complete the added task, which I will explain later in the race. There are two pauses in the race.

Switch: There is one switch in the race. When this occurs, one team will switch their time with another team.

Time for next leg: You will start 12 hours after you check into the pit stop for the next leg.

NOTE: There will be other factors which can help or hurt you throughout the race, such as hiring taxis, buying maps, etc or factors such as breakdowns, speeding tickets, etc.

NOTE: Because half the teams have still not sent in their information, I've decided not to do detailed team intros. I really don't have the time tomorrow to write them all, as I am starting this game right when I get back from my economics exam. The first clues will be posted around 11:00 PM EST along with the first major twist of the race.
