I'm sorry that I'm not up between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM and have class from from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (my time). However, I find it interesting that 6 of the final 8 racers are from Asia.

Detour: Escape Now (+5) or Escape Later (+10)

Escape Now: In Escape Now, teams will use a map to find the marked section of the island. From there, teams will work with an Alcatraz tour guide and participate in an escape attempt from the island. Once teams finish the task they will receive their next clue.

Task: Put these escape attempts in chronological order from oldest to most recent.

A. John Giles
B. Joseph Bowers
C. John Paul Scott
D. John Bayless

Escape Later: In Escape Later, teams will use a map of the island to search among three different prisons. There next clue is only in one of three prisons.

Task: Go to the site below and put the items which prison inmates partake in their daily routine in order from morning to night.

A. Prisoners are led back to recreation yard, lined-up and prepared for counts. Prisoners are counted and led back to the dining hall for dinner.

B. Breakfast. Prisoners are allowed to take as much food as they like as long as they eat everything. The motto is well known among inmates "Take what you like, eat what all that you take." Inmates are allowed to talk quietly during meals, and when finished, they are expected to prominently place all of their silverware on their trays. In order, correctional officers count silverware for each place set and validate counts.

C. Final lock-up count

D. Prison industries whistle signals end of work period. Inmates are lined up and marched through the snitch box (metal detector), up the stair trail into the recreation yard for counts before lunch. After counts are validated inmates are led into the mess hall
