This is getting very close to what you want to do, except replace the ( with [ and the ) with ].
 
also your last move should be a /move.  The / indicates you are closing the tag.  It's your stopping point.

three things:
 
I think the glow is choking on the space after my name - that or it's looking for the bold end tag first.
 
the bold part needs an end tag </b> (only with [ and ] not < and >)
and on the /move, your left off the brackets completely. Smiley   [ and ]
 
The brackets tell the forum code that you want to start doing something to the text and then then brackets with the / tell it to stop doing that now.  I'm sorry I didn't specify up above, when I was talking about the /move that you needed the brackets too.  I left them off so the forum wouldn't think I was trying to code, so you could see my message.
 
Brackets should be open and close in the same order but reverse, like this:
 
<b><color=red>sample text</color></b>
 
not
 
<b><color=red>sample text</b></color>
 
(only with [ and ] not < and > )

hmm a good question.  I'm not sure it matters where the bold goes, but I'd try it on the very outsides first.  The important thing is to make sure your closing tags match up in the correct backwards order.

It wasn't bigger, but it's definitely bold. If you compare the black letters in your yellow glowing one here and the ones in your purple or green glowing messages above, you can see that they are bigger (bolder) in this one.  Were you trying to make the glowing part bigger?

Here's an example of multiple colors.
 
<size=3><move><glow=green,4,300><color=blue>Rhune</color></glow></move>< /size>
 
Now in this I indicated I wanted my glow green.  I changed the ,2,300 to a ,4,300.  That made my glow bigger, kind of like a bold for the glowing.  Then I added a tag that said color=blue  that tells it I want my text to be blue.  The glow is green, and the text is blue, with basically a bolded glow.  For contrast I'll show you what a ,1,300 glow looks like.

< and > aren't actually valid brackets for this code, I only use those to show an example of what to type.  If I put the example using the real brackets [ and ] you wouldn't be able to see what I was typing, you'd just see the glowing and moving text.

The problem here is you have an extra space between the [ and the /
 
9 times out of 10 on yours, when there is a problem it's either a dropped bracket or a backwards bracket.  When it doesn't look right, double check all your brackets.

on this one I can see a few things, you kinda have your formatting backwards.  
 
in your size, you're missing an =  it needs to be size=4
 
on your closing tags you just need /color and /glow not all the = and extra stuff, same thing with your /size - the 4 doesn't need to be there.

The color options are actually fairly limitless.  You can specify a basic color like black, blue, green, yellow, red, pink, orange, purple, etc. etc.  your basic 1 world colors, or you can specify an html color.  Here's just one of several pages on the web where you can look up colors:

if for example, I wanted to make it the light blue at the top of the second column there on that page, which is listed as #CCFFFF, I would tell it:
 
<color=#CCFFFF>test</color>
 
and it would look like this:

You makin' fun of me?  Actually it is kinda funny.  It reminds of of Study Hall in highschool where you were supposed to be studying but instead, we'd whisper to each other and try not to get caught.
