thanks guys.  I wanted to use it as my signature, but it's a very large file (over 500k).  I wasn't sure how long it would take to load on dial-up modems and I don't want to make forum browsing difficult for people.
 
I used Adobe Photoshop 7 to create 33 images, each with slightly different color values.  Then I imported them into Ulead Gif Animator, created the animation, and exported it as a flash file.
