How did (or do) you do in school?

What kind of grades did you guys earn while you were in school, or (in my case) how are you currently doind as far as grades are concerned? For this past marking period in the 8th grade, my lowest average was an 88 (in Pre-Algebra) and my highest was 100 (in World History). All my other grades were all A's. Also, what courses did (or are) you taking in high school? I'm taking Algebra, Science, and English college prep and World History AP next year in 9th grade.

For 9th grade:

Physical Science : Right now I have a B... I could have done better I think, but I was really slacking off last quarter. Lips Sealed

I'm taking Biology next year.....

Algebra I : I had a C, my goal was to get a B, and I ended up with a A-!!

English 9 : A's all year.. that class is easy. We just got done reading Romeo and Juliet, that took about a month!!

Food Lab : B. But that was because I forgot to turn a project in! Oops! Lips Sealed

Spanish I : Again, A's all year. I'm taking Spanish II next year, and I'll try to take it all 4 years.

Studio Art : A-. I'm not the best at drawing but I still like to do it.

Social Studies 9/US History : Again, A's all year. It's my favorite class. Grin

MS Office : Yup, A's all year... it's easy... but sometimes when I can, I sneak onto Forumsnet!! Lips Sealed

I'm taking web design next year, and then when I'm a Junior, I hope to take CIS (Computer information Systems. It's learning all about computers, building them, repairing them, all that kind of stuff.)

Grade 11 Functions and Relations (university math) - 82%
Grade 11 Chemistry - 80%
Grade 11 Phys Ed - 88% (ya I know thats hutin much to brag about, its just gym)
Grade 11 Musical Theatre - around 70% - 80% (not sure exactly yet. Musical Theatre is a lot of fun though. We get to put on a Musical at the end of the year, and we are doing The Sound of Music)

I started off as a great student, but I wound up getting angry with the school system and just stopped trying. I was great student and I was in Gifted classes and everything. Going into middle school, I was placed in an advanced mathmatics course that would have me earning high school credits in middle school and then I'd start going to college two years early. Well, I moved up here to North Carolina and they didn't accept any credits I earned in middle school and made me go back and retake all of the classes I had already taken. They also tried to hold me back a grade. I got so angry, that I started protesting the classes and being a general nuisance. I graduated on time, but never got to take those college classes early.

Even after going to college, I still just hated school. Blame North Carolina and their horrible school system.

I always did terrible in school. I passed most of my classes but barely. The only classes that I did ok at were Law classes, even then I never got a mark higher then 75. I just didnt like school, and unfortunitly it showed.

First 4 years of elementary (we have 6 years) I am an ok student, average of 85% (that's ok!). Then I moved to a new school to finish my last 2 years of elementary, and I graduated Valedictorian. Grin

High school... er, I didn't do that well, but my average grades are around 87%. I'm always in the top section though thru out High school (4 years). I am also known in our class as one of the few people who are good at Math. Grin

College. Ugh. I went thru it just wanting to pass everything. In TAR speak, as long as I'm not eliminated, even if I'm not first, it's FINE. LOL. Luckily, I didn't fail a subject. Wink

I am very bitter about this, as I didn't get one C throughout my entire HS career until 4th quarter senior year calc bit me in the ass. I got an 84. Damn seniorities. If i had pulled an A outta that class I probably woulda been 3rd or 4th in the class.

ugh! don't remind me about school. i do great in it, but, ya know...
i got all A's and B's in elementary school, i had all A's and A+'s for my entire 6th grade year, and so far in 7th grade i have all A's except for one B+.

i am currently taking:
Honors US History
Pre-Algebra
Language Arts (every day, ugh!)
Life Science
Health/PE
Band (i play the Alto Sax)
Home Ech (cooking, adult life, etc)

next year i am taking:
Band (maybe Baritone Sax)

I was in all advanced classes last year, but I didn't want to be in Advanced science and I didn't get into advanced English. I wonder why, I had an A all last year at the Junior High... Roll Eyes

And there is no Advanced History until 10th grade at my school but I didn't sign up for it...

well... i'm not sure how our grading system here is equivalent to the US... but I'd say I'm an above average student... in grade school and high school I used to be one of the top students... I graduated high school as the 25th from the 250+ graduates... In college my general average is 1.81 (where 1 is the highest, 3 is passing, 5 is failed)... Grin

and in college I'm very active in my extra-curricular activities... I was president of our organization and was a bit active in the coordination with our student council...

Oh my! Here is the point system in high schools in where I live.

A1: 75 and above
A2: 70-74
B3: 65-69
B4: 60-64
C5: 55-59
C6: 50-54
D7: 45-49
E8: 40-44
F9: 39 and below.

I usually get A1 and A2s, and my average around 81. I came in 8th in the whole school, out of 360. 1st in class.

Am I right to say that my country's education system is really tough to cope with? Shocked

However, college was NOT easy! Especially when you have a professor who enjoys making tests as hard as possible and not helping you learn the material whatsoever... I'm not bitter or anything Wink

Ha, we have the same experience. I took up Computer Science, and we did computer programming, but we had teachers who don't know how to program. Roll Eyes

They teach by discussing things they read off books. But when they give exams.... Roll Eyes

im a second year engineering student and i admit im not that good at school cause im kinda lazy.. Hanging out with friends comes to me first and then Studies... Last term, I failed 7 units!! But when i study, i get high grades on exams even higher than those nerds..
