Hoffman to Play 'Fockers' Father Figure

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Move over Jerry Stiller. Dustin Hoffman is claiming paternity of the wacky Ben Stiller.
Hoffman, 66, has been cast as the younger Stiller's father in the upcoming "Meet the Fockers," the follow-up to 2000's hit "Meet the Parents," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
All main cast members from the original will return for "Fockers," which centers on Greg Focker (Stiller) and fiancee Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo) having overcome the first hurdle on the way to marriage after Greg has won over her parents Jack (Robert De Niro) and Dina (Blythe Danner).
Now, it's Pam's turn -- and more importantly, her tightly wound parents' turn -- to meet Greg's parents, the laid-back Fockers. Hilarity ensues.
The original film's director, Jay Roach, will also direct the Universal Pictures sequel.
"Fockers" is a reunion for Hoffman and De Niro who co-starred in 1997's "Wag the Dog." Hoffman will next appear in the upcoming biopic "J.M. Barrie's Neverland" later this year.
