The creators have said for some time they wanted to end after five seasons, so I'm just glad that they've agreed to let them take this through to the end and not risk being canceled.

Yes.. the first three seasons of 22 episodes each, and then the last three will each have 16 episodes...

16 seems too few!!!
 
48 episodes split into 2 seasons of 24 episodes would seem better. Then again I think they still have "3 chapters" to show to us.
 
Season 1 - The Losties
Season 2 - The Tailies
Season 3 - The Others
 
3 more seasons. I hope we see a season where there are both Island scenes and out-of-the-Island scenes. I heard there are people looking for the island so it will be interesting if we see those people planning on how to go to the island or looking for it.

OK... if we base this on the original season to the LE last summer... at some point The Hanso Foundation has to come back into play... so, I'm saying Season 4 is the Hanso season, and I think that's who the folks on the freighter are.. I think they're pissed at the "Others/Hostiles" who killed off the Dharma people (who they were funding) and they want to take back the island...

Ok, talking of end...I am thinking what this is all about....Up to the point where Ben kills everyone from the Dharma Initative is correct, but from that point on he is truly nuts...everything after is a story in his head!
