The Italian Job
« on: Oct 11th, 2003, 7:11am »

A band of thieves, led by Charlie Croker (Wahlberg), pulls off the ultimate heist by rigging the stoplights of the city of Los Angeles so that they can drive right out of the city with a carful of gold (in a safe that they're stealing back after Croker's double-crossing ex-partner, played by Edward Norton, stole it from Croker first), with nothing but green lights, while everyone else gets red lights, thus keeping the roads plugged with the largest traffic jam in L.A. history, and the police from pursuing them.
Release Date:  May 30, 2003.
MPAA Rating:   PG-13 for violence and some language.
Distributor:   Paramount Pictures

Cast and Credits

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, Charlize Theron, Christina Cabot, Mos Def

Rented this for the weekend. Will give my review after I watch it.  LOVE Ed Norton and Mark Walberg so I know it is good.  Anyone else seen it?

I have not seen it yet, but very much want to.  I know that it was very popular in the theatres, enough so that they re-released it for a second run.

Okay, I finally watched this last night.  Very few comments to make.  First off, the heist at the beginning is AWESOME!  As well as the boat chase through Venice!  Then, an eye-opening couple of scenes. And then the hitmen meet in the Alps. Great scenery while they are all standing around talking. Each of them drinking Dom straight out of the bottle and each with his own bottle.  The take for each? 35 MILLION DOLLARS.  But alas, there is a curve and vengance involved.  And how sweet it is.  That is all I will say. Other than the fact that Mark Wahlburg RAWKS.  He is too sexy and I can just imagine how his body looks under those clothes.  Oh my TMI.  Forgot this is a PG board. LOLOLOLOL
Anyhow, I highly recommend it.  Very fun to watch.
