Leg 2 Summary

Compliments of Alexander

After the mandatory 12-hour period, where teams were able of eating, sleeping and mingling with each other, Kris and Genius were the first to depart from Lake Powell, they discovered they had to drive to McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, once there they had to sign up for one of two flights to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, once in Brazil they had to find The Big Man for receiving their next clue.

Without wasting time Kris and Genius boarded their marked car and sped off towards the airport, JP and Mirna hot on their heels, soon everyone was on their way to the airport.
Marion and Popos driving skills proved once more to be the best as they were the first ones to arrive on the airport and get tickets for the earliest flight, catching a break Mary and littleboy joined their friends Popo and Marion on the first flight, Charla and Heather, Aaron and Peetah, el sheik and Chip and Genius and Kris also caught tickets for the first flight, Racedude and Jhon Vito also took a pair of tickets for the first flight.

JP and Mirna got lost on their way to the airport giving Alexander and Kellie the last seats for the first flight.
Once in Brazil teams searched for the Big Man, finding it first Heather and Charla discovered they had to take a ferry to Paqueta Island and kiss Fat Maria to receive their next clue, on the ferry ride Charla and Heather discussed about Portuegese language when Charla said Rápido to make the ferry go faster.

However the first ones to arrive and kiss Fat María were Alexander and Kellie with Popo and Marion close by, opening their clue both teams discovered they had to travel by foot to Ilha Towers and sign up for a ferry back to mainland on the following morning.

Genius and Kris once more got there first and signed up for the first ferry along with Tarfan1 and Gretchen, Peetah and Aaron and Arch and Carissa.

On the second ferry, 30 minutes behind, were Popo and Marion, Racedude and Jhon Vito, Tammy and Bill, Little boy and Mary and bickering friends Blake and t.

Once more getting lost JP and Mirna ended up in the last ferry with Heather and Charla, el sheik and Chip and Alexander and Kellie, who had stopped to buy some strawberry cakes thus loosing their lead.

Next morning teams on the first ferry boarded it and got to land just to discover they had to get to Sugarloaf Mountain, once there they had to take a gondola to the top for their next clue.

Getting a break from their struck of bad luck, JP and Mirna got to the top of Sugarloaf mountain, ripping open their clue they discovered a DETOUR, in this Detour teams had to choose between Mountain and Beach, in Mountain each team member must participate in a quick but frightening 590-foot rappel down the sheer granite face of Sugarloaf. In Beach teams were required to go back down the mountain in the gondola, and then find transportation to Ipanema Beach. Once there, they must find the woman who inspired the song "Girl from Ipanema," with only a photograph to help them.

Not wanting anyone to follow them JP and Mirna chose Beach, arriving second Jhon Vito and Racedude chose to do the scary rappel, as teams continued to arrive and choose their options, JP and Mirna has trouble on their Detour Option.

Finally arriving at the top of the mountain and opening their clue t confessed to Blake Mountain looked scary, when Blake told him it hadnt been scary for him, t shouted: I AM ON THIS TEAM TOO YOU KNOW?!

Genius and Kris were the first ones out of their Beach Detour and found this legs pit stop, they had to travel to Urca Beach and then take a boat to Tocorime Yacht, hurrying up Kris and Genius took a taxi to Tocorime Beach, being the first ones out of the Mountain Detour, TARfan1 and Gretchen also took a taxi to the pit stop.

t and Blake and el sheik and Chip finished their Detours almost immediately. With all the teams on their way to the pit stop, only Racedude and Jhon Vito remained making their way down the mountain.

Getting to the pit stop first Kris and Genius received a vacation to Hawaii provided by American Airlines.

On a close race el sheik and Chip beat Popo and Marion to the pit stop making them teams two and three respectively. Catching a huge break from their cake mistake Alexander and Kellie finished fourth and 10 seconds later Mirna and JP claimed fifth, Heather and Charla celebrated their six place finish as Littleboy and Mary finished seventh. Blake and t bickered their way to 8th place.

Racedude and John Vito catched a break when they found out they were team number nine, Peetah and Aaron got a 10th.
Getting lost on their way there both Arch Angel and Carissa and tarfan1 and Gretchen raced to the pit stop, somehow Gretchen and TARfan1 managed to beat the more athletic Carissa and Arch Angel making them team 10 and letting the young ones with 11th.

Arriving last GaghanFamily and Bill discovered they were the second team eliminated from the race.

Leg 3

Teams begin with the following amount of points:
Genius and Kris - 10.7
el_sheik_doufa and Chip - 11.1
Popo and Marion Paolo - 11.4
Alexander and Kellie - 13
JP and Mirna - 13.1
Heather and Charla - 14.7
LittleBoy and Mary - 15.9
t and Blake - 17.2
RaCeDuDe and John Vito - 17.3
Peetah and Aaron - 18
TARfan1 and Gretchen - 18.5
Arch Angel and Carissa Gaghan - 18.6

Clue: Search through Rio de Janeiro for the samba club. Intersection: For this intersection, two teams will need to work together to finish the next task.

You will need to figure out for yourselves how to break into six teams of four. You must post your team below once you have decided. Once the six teams are formed, you will receive your task.

NOTE: DO NOT POST YOUR TEAM OF FOUR UNTIL BOTH TEAMS HAVE DECIDED. THAT MEANS YOU WILL NEED TO TALK TO EACH OTHER AND DECIDE ON A TEAM BEFORE YOU CAN POST IT.
