The Amazing Online Race 5
You are signing up for one of the most popular Amazing Race Games. This season will be using the exact same format as last season, except we will have no theme (last seasons theme was Hidden Identities).

Basics
   15 Teams
   13 Legs
   0 Non Eliminations
   10 Fast Forwards
   3 Yields

Pre Run(s)
If you cant be online at the start of a leg, you have the option of Pre Running. Each player will be able to Pre Run a maximum of three legs, out of the first nine legs. Once we get to leg 10, there will be no more pre runs. To Pre Run means that you schedule a time with either of the Hosts, at that time you will receive the password to the first section via PM. At that time, time will start. Once you finish the leg and PM the person you are Pre Running with, time ends. If the leg is scheduled to start at 9:00 and your Pre Run time is 13 Minutes, then you will be checked into the Pit stop at 9:13.

How the Race Works
Just like last season, each leg will have its own section. In each of those sections, there will be sub-boards for each clue. The answer to section one will be the password to section two and so on. The password for section one will be posted in the Race Information section at the start time.

Prizes
The winner of each of the first 11 legs will win a prize. Make sure you PM the Hosts ahead of time when you would like to use your Prize. Listed below are the following prizes:
   Two Minute Head Starts Allows you to start any of the first twelve legs two minutes before any other racers.
   Immunity The winner of the leg before a Yield will be immune to the Yield.
   Time If you win this prize, you will win the ability to choose the time for the following leg.

Confessionals
Each player will have there own confessional section where they can talk about the race privately. The only people who are able to see that section are the two hosts and yourself. After each leg, a set of questions will be posted in the Confessional Questions section. You will need to answer those questions (in good detail) before the start of the next leg. If they arent completed, you wont be able to check into the next pit stop until they are.

The answers have been posted but it would be much more beneficial if you search for the answers rather than just looking at them, especially if you were not in TAOR4, to get a feel for the types of clues on the race (although they will be much harder on this season).

Well! I thought I'd give you an update as to where we're at on this!

Redwings has finished the route. I've made sections for all thirteen legs and have all the sub-boards for the clues. We've posted Clues for the first four legs (what was written in blue and the picture from last season), but we haven't done the tasks yet. And obdviously we haven't passworded anything yet. I've got most of the sections ready except for confessionals, and I have started on the banner for those of you who have already reserved a spot. We hope to have this done by the end of this month at the very latest.

We hope to have everything up and running by no later then two weeks! Once we are completely done and ready I will post the link to the TAOR Game Site in this topic (probably in a new post and on the first post), in addition I will PM each of the 15 players the link to the site. You will then need to register on that site as your forumsnet username. I will then change your display name and set you in the appropriette group. Once everyone has registered on the TAOR5 site, you will need to get all information about the race from there. It will not be posted here. The Leg 1 time will be sent out in a mass email, but don't rely on that for every leg. It is your responsibility to check the main site for those times and information!

In addition, I know many of you are worried about the new Pre run Rule. So this is what will be done. If you are someone who knows will be drastically affected by this because you are on a very different time zone (I don't mean by 1-2 hours, I mean like 6+), then you must PM me before the race begins and tell me about that. Arrangements will be made through there. However, you still will not be able to Pre Run with legs containing U-Turns, Yields, and any other possible twist.

Right now I am currently working on the clues. I've took a nice break from that (although I probably shouldn't), so I'm going to resume where I left off and spend most of the day doing that. Redwings should be back by the 2nd I believe and then we can hopefully finish these soon. I'm also speaking with him about possible twists and stuff to add to the race or bring back from a past season.

Then you can use one of your three Pre Runs. I do this because I know the problem will occur less with these people. Leg times will be at a reasonable hour in the EST time zone and people in or near that zone shouldn't have the problem quite so much. However, if the leg is at 8:00 and your seven hours ahead then your going to be screwed most likely. I'm just trying to eliminate what has happened in the past (which was when we had teams use Pre Runs every single leg). For the glossary, I've added every clue that has appeared on the show and how it would work if it were to appear on the game. In other words, just because it's there and in the glossary doesn't mean that it will be in the game. But still, it is your responsibility to have a good understanding of each clue and how it will work, because it will definetly give you an advantage if you know ahead of time how some of these work.

So if you can't be online at that time, no worries! You may Pre Run, that is running the leg before but being timed while doing so. In other words, if you are timed at 8 minutes on the leg, then you check in at 7:38. PM a Host to do so and schedule a time, however, you may not Pre Run every leg, use them sparingly.
