This is Los Angeles, California. This entertainment Mecca is where 9will embark on a race around the world for $1,000,000. Teams are being transported to the starting line at Dodget Stadium.

Ken & Tina, Separated
Andrew & Dan, Frat Boys

In just a few minutes, you'll be leaving on a race around. Over the 10 legs, you will be performing various tasks. At the end of each leg there is a pit stop. In a new twist to this race, there are no pre-determined non-elimination legs. Instead, this race will be operating on a strike system. On the first 5 legs, the bottom two teams will receive a strike and on the last 5, only the last team will receive a strike. Once you receive 2 strikes, you will be eliminated.

You're first clue is waiting on your bags over there. The first team to cross the finish line at the end of the race will win $1,000,000

Detour: Tartan or Toss
In Tartan, teams must go to a town hall just outside Aberdeen and then collect a piece of tartan. Teams must match the pattern on their tartan with one of the mens kilts inside the hall who are performing a dance called the ceilidh. Once they find the right man, he will give them their next clue.

In Toss, teams must go to a field by the River Dee and once there play a Highland sport known as the Caber Toss. Each team member must toss a tall pole and have it land between two lines to receive their next clue.

Tasks
Tartan (20 mins + 4 mins): Tell me how ceilidh is spelled phonetically.
Toss (15 mins + 5 mins): Go to http://www.tv.com/ and tell me who performed the Highland Games Roadblock for each team in Season 3 and then tell me where they finished on that leg.

Deadline: 17 Nov, 3pm UTC

In Take it Down, teams go by boat to another area within Ganvié. There, teams would have to help locals take down an old roof on a house and take it to the dock to get their next clue.

Place it Up (40 mins, +8 mins): Find out 4 types of stilt house, and PM me their names and where they are commonly found.
Take it Down (1 hour, +4 mins): A detour choice in one of the seasons of TAR had teams take a roof 2 thirds of a mile and place it on top of the house. Tell me the name of the Detour, and what season it was found in.

Teams are now going on one of four flights to Athens, Greece. All teams caught the same flight from Cotonou to Abidjan, Frankfurt and Paris. Mark/Bill, Marisa/Brooke and Toni/Dallas all caught the same flight to Athens arriving at 1.50pm. Kelly/Christy got a flight arriving at 4.30pm, Andrew/Dan got a flight arriving at 5.25pm and Terence/Sarah and Aja/Ty have chosen to take a flight arriving at 6pm.

Teams are now getting on buses to Olympia.

On the first bus, departing at 2.30pm carries the front 3 teams. All other teams are on a bus at 7.30pm. They are on a 5 and a half hour trip.

It is 8pm, and the front 3 arrive in Olympia.

There is an hours of operation for the detour in Olympia - 8am to 10pm, so the last 4 are bunched until the next morning.

Once teams get their clue they find a detour

For this detour, teams must choose between Ancient Olympics or Modern Olympics.

In Ancient Olympics, teams must take part in the ancient Olympic sport of hoplitodromos. Teams must put on full, 27kg armour and each team member must run 800 yards with this armor on to receive their next clue.

In Modern Olympics, teams must take part in the Olympic sport of archery. Each team member must hit the 9 or 10 ring of the target by shooting an arrow from 30 meters away to receive their next clue.

Tasks:
Ancient Olympics (25 mins + 3 mins): When did the first hoplitodromos appear at the ancient Olympics. I need the number of the Olympics (e.g. 34th) and the year it was held in.

Roadblock: Who's friends with the speed dial?

For this Roadblock, one team member must search a huge room with ringing phones for the only one which is telling them the name of their next pit stop.

Task: Choose the order of the rooms you want your team to go to. There are 6 rooms.

Room 1: Reception Area
Room 2: Google Hyderabad Headquarters
Room 3: Main Calling Area
Room 4: Microsoft Headquarters

Teams will find their next clue at the Chinatown Heritage Centre. Teams will find it tough to get a taxi driver in Little India to go to Chinatown, so teams might need to give a driver extra money besides their taxi fare.

In Lose Weight, teams must take part in the Baldwin Street Gutbuster, a cycle up the steepest street in the world. At the top they will get their next clue.

Both detours cannot be completed until 8am in the morning.

Lose Weight (+16 mins, +8): Find out the angle of Baldwin Street's slope is at its maximum

Tasks:
Grab a Boat (15 mins, + 11): List the 4 ingredients with with the Vietnamese version of sour soup is made from.

Right, this leg of airporting has just really confused me, mainly because of Zack's route (you had a lot of fun on that travel site), but here's a map anyway (I know I spelled Beijing wrong, but I noticed that after I finished the map)

Aja/Ty are first to arrive in Kunming at 11pm, but find themselves stuck outside the newsstand until 9am tomorrow morning. They still get find their clue first.

Teams must now make their way to the Kunming Market and search for their next clue.

Task: The two objects (animals, cars, whatever, although those aren't the answers) usually found being sold in Kunming's Market.

In Sounds, teams must find the area of the market where birds are sold. Once there, teams must listen for the bird which makes a different noise from the others and get their next clue from the cage where it is staying in.

In Smells, teams must go to a shop where artificial flowers are sold. Then, teams must find a real flower in amongst the fakes ones using only their noses.

Tasks:
Sounds (20 mins, +15 mins): Go to this site: http://www.xabusiness.com/chinese-bird-paintings.htm and find the joint largest paintings (there are 4 of the same size) and the most expensive painting.
Smells (30 mins, +5 mins): The teams that performed the same task on the real Amazing Race.

Marisa & Brooke, I'm sorry to tell you that you've both been eliminated from the race.

Aja & Ty travelled through some difficulty during the early legs, but they eventually stepped up to become easily the best team in this race, winning over half of the legs so far.

Mark & Bill have taken flight risks. Some have paid off *Ho Chi Minh City* while others haven't *Kunming*. They have been one of the mentally stronger teams in this race, and they have found their way to the final 3.

Mother/Son Toni & Dallas have kept a positive attitude throughout the race, and a well-timed Fast Forward in Auckland saw them get over 12 hours ahead. However, their lack of luck in flights have pulled them to the back of the pack, and they are now in last place.

Now, all strikes are gone, as one of these teams will win $1 million.

Task: Find the season, leg and location where teams had to perform a task like this on The Amazing Race. There were two occasions, one where they did have to translate and one where they didn't. I'll take either.

Looking back, I'd probably reverse them. The flights in HCMC helped to get a lead which was eliminated due to the Intersection, while the flights to Kunming allowed me to get far enough ahead of redwings to survive the U-Turn.

Hey, Sam, I think you have made a mistake.
Due to the time difference (and dates too, you indicated we need a flight on 1st April, however the in-game date is 18th Dec) and my departure time is 11am, I need to find a flight departing on or after 1PM which I found one and arriving at 4PM which is just 5 hours after my departure time.
Zach and redwings depart at 1:30PM and 2:10PM respectively and they can only get a flight after 3:30PM and 4:10PM, they can never arrive at a time (10:45AM) even EARLIER than their departure times, right?

I should have arrived at Beijing even before redwings arrived at airport lol.

That line was wrong. If you look at the leaderboard, you departed at 11:00 PM and I was at 2:10 AM, 3 hours after you.

No it wasn't. The leaderboard shows the current time your team is at, so at the beginning of the leg, the time on the leaderboard is when you depart. It's been like that for the entire race.

Yeah, I made a mistake with the departure time, the one in the leaderboard was correct. I don't really think it will completely matter since there is gonna be another flight to the final destination and I've checked and there aren't too many flights going there from Beijing. You should catch up to them at some point.

In Wet, teams must go to the Water Cube and each team member must complete a 10m platform dive to receive their next clue.

In Sweat, teams must put on a costume of one of the 2008 Olympic mascots. Teams must run 1 lap of the 400m track in these costumes to get their next clue.

Tasks:
Wet (10 mins, +11 mins): Arrange the 20 best countries at diving in the Olympics by the order of BRONZE medals they have obtained.
Sweat (20 mins, +6 mins): Find out the name of the Orange Fuwa, the element it represents, its cultural inspiration and the sport it represents.
