Episode 3 Discussion

First off, i'm sad that Aubrey and Jac were eliminated. They were just trying to enjoy their experience on the race, it's really sad to see them go!

And i really hate luck-based Roadblock, i'm giving credits to the teams who perservered and decided to complete it.

The few teams were Sharon/Melody (I'm proud they got the Singaporean-never-say-die spirit), Howard/Sahran, the Indian Models and Sandy and Francesca. I can't believe 5 teams chose to quit that Roadblock. This leg will definitely be screwed if the opening hours didn't delay the teams who decided to quit the Roadblock first. Because they would have arrived at the Pitstop, assessed a full time of 4 hours of penalty before Sharon/Melody who actually completed the Roadblock checked in to the Pitstop. Badly planned. *shakes head*

However, i really like the spirit of Andrew/Syeon and Aubrey/Jac, at least they made the effort to dig for it for like 4 hours before they decided to quit, but this isn't really the way to do things, it's just well.. plain risky and stupid.

I'm really glad the four teams who completed the Roadblock came in the top 4 teams, and once again to Sharon/Melody for being the only all-female team who perservered for 4 hours to complete it. I don't think i would have done that anyway, totally. I don't have much patience. Angry

And i thought Mardy and Marsio would be eliminated! The sand-digging Roadblock in TAR 5, Marshall and Lance had a bad leg like Mardy and Marsio! Whatever it is, they can't go on further anyway! So yay!

I think the editing's getting better and it's quite suspenseful till the end. At least there's a prize offered for the first placers of the leg finally. This season of TARA is just getting better and i'm enjoying it even more! Smiley

yeah, i totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's getting better and better but alan wu is getting more annoying and more annoying..........i was giving him the benefit of the doubt n i don't know if should still, i really wonder if he'll get better...he comes thru as rude and lifeless everytime he checks someone at the pitstop, it's just plain weird.......
oh, and by the way, the bickering between teams is starting to show............... Tongue

Love this season!

Okay. Let's see. At first, I thought Quitting was smart. However, Hours of Operation stopped everyone in their tracks! So quitting gave you a four-hour penalty and you gained zero time for it! Hah! Very proud of those teams that chose not to quit.  Grin

Sharon & Melody are my new favourites, i'd like to see them win as well as really liking JoeJer and Zabrina. I really liked this ep too, i think it's getting better and better. I didn't think the challenges were any good in ep2 but now i'm loving it.  Smiley

When the words "Dig Time: n hours" appeared, I am reminded of Survivor. LOL.

The tasks were quite good this leg, and the editing has improved.  Smiley

This episode can definitely be on par with some of the episodes in The Amazing Race. But luckily the teams are assessed a 4 hours penalty at the pitstop, can you imagine if it's on the spot, and the opening hours will put everyone on the same ground again? Huh

According to wiki, they can't steal taxi. I didn't know.  Huh

Quote:
Also in Leg 3, it is shown that teams are not allowed to hitchhike into private vehicles (even to be driven for a short while to get to a place where there are more taxis) nor be allowed to take another team's taxi as it is against the Race rules. The latter is not practiced in the original American version.

It should be allowed! hehe

Ok, I was shocked and disappointed that Aubrey and Jacq were eliminated Sad Stupid Allan! "You're team number 9! You're the last team to arrive." He gave the girls false hope instead of just saying they're last. He probably forgot what to say to them LOL.

I'm liking Andrew and Syeon more. They seem smart (they were researching in one of the Internet cafes during down time). And they don't bicker much. And Syeon's cute Grin

That RB was hell. I thought all teams would quit. Also, the penalty was not imposed on the spot, but rather on the Pit Stop. During TAR7 the people who quit the meat-eating RB weren't given the clue until their 4-hour penalty passed, but in TAR Asia, they can get the clue immediately. Hmmm.

This is a great season so far!

^ LOL well it was a beach (so there are umbrellas around), and their teammates got the umbrellas for them, not the producers, so all is fair.

The penalty was given at the Pitstop probably because producers know that the opening hours will then screw this leg, hence decided that the penalty be given at the pitstop so that teams who actually completed the Roadblock would have an advantage over the rest of the teams.
