I have never been a huge Elvis :guitarist:fan, but today is the 25th anniversary of his passing.  I was just watching the news and thousands of people are lined up in the pouring rain just to pass by his grave.  Elvis did change the face of music and has influenced many musicians.  Any thoughts on "The King" today?

goin to graceland, graceland.....

i was seven when he died.  i cannot believe how quickly time goes by or how his presence has remained.  i heard that graceland is the second most visited personal residence in the us...second to the white house!  weird and yet intriguing... :freak:

makes me wanna check it out!

Bookies in England are giving odds of 1000 to 1 on whether Elvis is still alive.  LOL.

They have travelled from Canada for the vigil.  this woman is about 1 hour out of toronto and she has come every year it seems:

"You wouldn't see this in Canada," said Marc Lemieux, a 31-year-old Brockville telecommunications worker, as he stood in line with his wife, Kristy.

No one held great-grandmother Rose Nelson back.

She was near the front of the line -- as has been every year since the vigils began.

"This is the life of Elvis, from birth to death," the 70-year-old, St. Catharines-born woman told me, pointing to her right leg.

From the knee to the ankle, her son has tattooed milestones in the life of Elvis -- including The King's parents, Graceland and even his grave.

A retired nurse who lives in Missouri, she had her son put on her first Elvis tattoo two decades ago -- a little figure of The King over her right breast.

She hauled down her top, and I quickly tell her I believe her.
