From the latest issue of Us Weekly magazine...

-Says she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in May, just after the finale.

-Says her dad's sister died of breast cancer at a young age.

-She had breast implants five years ago.

-She had a successful double mastectomy on August 29.

-The cancer didn't spread anywhere else.

-Coby said he would shave her hair

-She's going back to Oregon for six months of chemotherapy.

-She's not scared of dying of the disease, but of "all the changes," such as "losing her hair" and "not being able to see her friends."

WOW...she is so young, I guess this goes to show it can happen to anyone at any age. She is in my thoughts and prayer, and I am so happy to hear it did not spead anywhere else. I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Inside Edition ran the story on their 10/27 broadcast. Which was apparently a couple of weeks after the head shaving party and Jenn's first chemo. Jenn first shaved Coby's head down to a very close buzz cut and then he gave her somewhat of a pixie cut. They both looked great.

Then they showed the beginning of the initial chemotherapy treatment. They interviewed Jenn throughout the story and she discussed how she ignored the first lump she found and it progressed from there. She commented how she was most concerned about having to shave her head, since she's very fond of her hair...this set up the Coby angle. The story was short, but nicely done.

Sadly, things are not good for Jenn right now. Coby (who is really a nice guy to his fans!) has given me an update today which I'll share with you...

"Jenn is NOT doing well. She had complications and had to go back to LA to get rid of a infection. She was there for about a week and is now back in Portland.

Also, her sister-in-law just passed away of brain cancer last week as well...now her family who was already helping Jenn is helping their son raise his 2 young sons...they have alot on their plate right now, so please keep up the sweet thoughts."

If you haven't sent me a support message to get to Jenn but would like to, you still have time. I'm still putting things together for her. Post it here, contact me via PM or e-mail it to me at [email protected].

Jenn is supposed to be done with her chemo now. She's scheduled to be at Cocoa Beach in July, so she must be doing okay. I'll ask Coby when I talk to him this week.

Sadly, it appears that Jenn was on the Early Show and in People Magazine recently reporting that the cancer is back and in her backbone. She is back in chemo but she says, "It's not so bad this time...I'm not losing my hair."

Prayers and best wishes to Jenn. She's a true Survivor and one of the most beautiful and positive people I've ever met. I hope she's able to beat this.

Jennifer Lyon, who placed fourth on Survivor: Palau in 2005, died at her home in Oregon Tuesday night, PEOPLE has confirmed. She was 37.

The reality TV star was first diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer a few months after she wrapped Survivor, and opted for a modified, radical bilateral mastectomy, followed by courses of chemotherapy and tamoxifen, a drug used to prevent recurrence.

"In the summer of 2004, I felt something in my right breast that didn't feel normal," Lyon told PEOPLE in October 2005. "I thought it was probably scar tissue related to my breast implants. So I let it go for a long time."

Being on the CBS competition boosted her spirits and provided an inner strength to battle her disease. "Survivor taught me there's an end in sight," she told PEOPLE. "As hard as it is, it will be over, and you have to appreciate every day."

Survivor host Jeff Probst said that "near the end" He and Lyon spoke "about the idea that death is such a hard subject and so many of us simply dont know what is appropriate to say, so we end up saying the wrong thing for all the right reasons."

"If I learned anything from Jenn it is this: Dont be afraid to ask someone how they are truly feeling about dying," Probst says. "Dont shy away from the scary parts of death. They need someone to talk to about what is going on inside their head. Most importantly, encourage them to let go of the expectations of others and give them permission to do what is right for them, even if it means letting go"

Her Survivor castmates remember her as kind and courageous. "She is the model of grace, and has been so brave," fellow contestant Ian Rosenberger told PEOPLE at the Survivor 10th anniversary party on Jan. 9.

Despite her illness, Lyons hosted many fundraisers for breast cancer research. Most recently, she opened a Christmas tree lot with proceeds designated to her cause.
