Hi everyone sorry I'm so very behind on updating the world cup but I have been ill as of late and just ahven't been able too. Anyway I'm sure those of you reading this thread are anxious to find out who's in so here we go you have made the decison here are your picks.
First the automatic entrants because of their status as all-stars They are: Alicia Calaway, Amber Brksh, Colby Donaldson, Ethan Zhon, Jenna lewis, Jenna Morasca, Jerri Manthy, Kathy O'Brian, Lex van de burgh, Richard Hatch, Rob Cesternino, Rob Mariano, Rudy Boetch, Rupert Boneham, Shii Ann Huang, Susan Hawk, Tina Wesson and Tom Buchanan.

Now for your picks top 30 get in everyone else is out I will give these as points from last update + points from voted off + points from forums and here we go

Only winner not in : Vecepia and I'm very happy about it
Colleen has won the last two world cups and didn't even make the field this year

Frequently asked questions

Voting:

Each person get's one vote for each set of voting per board. If yuo are member of both boards (voted off and Metropolis forums) you may vote once at each site.

From here on out vote will be on a match play basis it will be survivor x vs survivor y you vote for your favorite. Most vote point by the close of voting wins

Votes will be give a rating of 1-3 pts based on the following criteria:

example: Brian vs. Matthew

a 1 pt vote would be Brian beat Matthew
2 pt vote brian beast Matthew becasue he's a better pornstar (or similar reasoning)
3 pt Vote Brian beats Mattew in a firebuildin challenge. brian goes out and starts collecting wood at a furous pace lighting the fire by rubbing two sticks togther creating mor fricction than he ever did in bed with one of his co-stars. Matthew was keeping up well until he got side tracked fising for pirahna

thes vote will be judged by the official game judge (doctor 23) who's decisions are final

Advancement:

The survivors will be broken up into 8 groups by random draw. First the 18 survivors from all-stars will be chosen two at a time to ensure that there are at least two all-stars in each group. after the draw of the first 16 all-stars the extra two will be thrown in with the other 3 survivors from voting a random draw 4 at a time until there are 6 surviors in each of the 8 groups.

Survivor will be voted on in weekly voting. Groups A - D one week and then Groups E - H the next week. this is a round robin format for the first round. that mean each survivor will be pitted against each other survivor in the group 1 at a time until all are exasuted. Five ,matches in each group constitutes the first rround. The top two records from each group will then advance to the second round.

First round voting will be as follows:

Week 1 - Groups A - D Match 1 (4/27/04 - 5/6/04)
Week 2 - Groups E - H Match 1 (5/6/04 - 5/13/04)
Week 3 - Groups A - D Match 2 (5/13/04 - 5/20/04)
Week 4 - Groups E - H Match 2 (5/20/04 - 5/27/04)
Week 5 - Groups A - D Match 3 (5/27/04 - 6/3/04)
Week 6 - Groups E - H Match 3 (6/3/04 - 6/10/04)
Week 7 - Groups A - D Match 4 (6/10/04 - 6/17/04)
Week 8 - Groups E - H Match 4 (6/17/04 - 6/24/04)
Week 9 - Groups A - D Match 5 (6/24/04 - 7/1/04)
Week 10 - Groups E - H Match 5 (7/1/04 - 7/8/04)

At this point bracketed play will begin with the 16 remaining survivors. Winner advances loser goes home.

Week 11 - Round of 16 all matches (7/8/04 - 7/15/04)
Week 12 - Quarterfinals all matches (7/15/04 - 7/22/04)
Week 13 - Semifinals all matches (7/22/04 - 7/29/04)
Week 14 - Finals (7/29/04 to 8/5/04)
Winner announced 8/6/04 Hopefully just in time for the start of Survivor 9

If anyone personnally know any the survivors talk to them and let them know about the cup I'd like to arrange a live chat with the winner if he or she would be willing. Let me know what people find out. Also encourage them to vote for themselves. It would be neat to have the survivors comming here to play the game again.

Voting closes at 8:00 pm EST on the last day of voting

Match assignments:
Each Survivor will be asigned a number in each group depending upon the order of the draw matches will be played in the following order for all groups.

Match 1 (1 vs 2) (3 vs 4) (5 vs 6)
Match 2 (1 vs 6) (2 vs 4) (3 vs 5)
Match 3 (1 vs 5) (2 vs 3) (4 vs 6)
Match 4 (1 vs 4) (2 vs 5) (3 vs 6)
Match 5 (1 vs 3) (2 vs 6) (4 vs 5)

For the quarter finals the followng match assignments will be made

Group A 1st place vs Group H 2nd place
Group B 1st place vs Group G 2nd place
Group C 1st place vs Group F 2nd Place
Group D 1st place vs Group E 2nd place
Group H 1st place vs Group A 2nd place
Group G 1st place vs Group B 2nd place
Group F 1st place vs Group C 2nd Place
Group E 1st place vs Group D 2nd place

placement for matches in bracket will be by random draw

Ties:

in the even of 2 or more survivors haveing identical records such that the tie must be broken to determine advancement to bracket play the following tie - breaking method will be used.

1) greater total vote points for
2) Lesser total vote point against
3) Greater vote points in berth voting (that's what we just got done with)
4) Game judges preference

In bracket play if the vote is tied at the end of voting the game judge will cast one vote to break the tie
