What did you guys think of that Ethan character? He had told Hurley that his last name was Rom. In discussions on another board, we first thought it was an Ethan Frome clue. But then someone pointed out the Ethan Rom rearranged equals OtherMan.

We thought it was Danielle's (the French lady) hubby at first but he's too young. Then we thought it was her son, but he's too old.

Do you guys have any theories Huh

I had considered it could be her son, but you're right, he's too old for that. Obviously there is more than one of him though, since they believe more than one took Claire and Charlie and Sayid said there are "others" on the island. Also, he was hearing multiple voices.

So if Ethan Rom = Other Man

then does "another" actually mean "an other"?

I thought he might be the French lady's son too, but thought that he was too old. But I'm trying to think about how he could be connected to the French lady's son. I mean, he still could be. and be some sort of shape shifter, which is how jack also sees his dad there. maybe these "others" ARE shape shifters, which is how a polar bear ended up on the island. One of them shifted into a bear, but got killed before changing back.

Well, I agree that there has to be others. Ethan couldn't have overpowered both Claire and Charlie by himself. He had to have help.
