I watched a making of on HBO the other day and the camera they were using was just mind blowing.  They had a special camera made that reflected the world's environment and the avatar images of the actors.  So they are walking around on a blank stage with the dots all over their faces and leaping around, but on the camera monitor, Cameron sees them leaping through the jungle and can go back to redo a scene if it doesn't look right, etc.  I was simply amazed.

What did you think?  I really enjoyed it, definitely one for the big screen.

Well, the first hour was really good... that's about the time the headache and nausea from the motion sickness started.  I managed another 45mins before I finally gave up and left.  I was focused more on not throwing up on the people next to me than the movie... I'm getting Dramamine and going back Wednesday with my DD to see the end... Sad

I was just to where the conflict between the humans and the natives was about to begin when I finally couldn't take anymore... the cinematography is beautiful!!

Did you do the Imax, or the digital 3D?  The Imax makes me seasick too, but the digital 3D doesn't have that effect on me at all.

IMAX.... I've gone to several IMAX 3-D though and never gotten sick.  I think it's because i ALWAYS get there early and make sure I'm up top, dead center so there's no distortion - and this time I tried a new theater, and got there late, and was off center... and that had some effect on it.  I've still not gotten to see the rest of it... debating if I want to go see it in 3-D, or just do the 2.75 2-D version at home and see the last hour... Sad

From the music to the muse, this is clearly a James Cameron flick, clearly a masterpiece, and clearly marks a revolution in blockbusters, for if you only see one film in a 3-D cinema this year, make it Avatar.

Try the digital 3-D instead, it's never made me seasick.  With Imax it's a crap-shoot.  I had to watch about 3/4 of A Christmas Carol with my eyes closed cause it was making me so sick.

This is the first (and so far only) movie I have seen in IMAX 3D. It was a breathtaking experience, like being part of something historical.

Avatar is a good movie. I like the concept of this movie a lot which makes me crazy. In this movie, I like all the sound effects and animations.
